Post Variants you'd like to see.
Let's be honest, aside from the Titan, weapon variants were too samey to really justify.
Most of them either ended as flat out upgrades, or downgades, precisely because they brought so little to the table.

Since it's not very likely Hi-Rez will ever fix those, I suppose the next best course of action would be to suggest some more interesting ways to approach the subject, so that the mistakes are hopefully never again repeated.

My suggestions are as follows:

Infiltrator:
-Sharpened Throwing Knifes:
400 damage, no AoE
Because there's just so many things current knifes are 25 damage short to do.
Crazy rating: Low


Raider:
-Jammed Cluster Grenade:
Instead of exploding into a burst of 8 smaller grenades, due to a jammed dispersion mechanism this grenade explodes 8 times, bouncing around with each explosion, over a short period of time.
Essentially, a different take on the "explosive fractal" concept.
Crazy rating: Low


Juggernaut:
-Revolver adapted MIRV/Auto-Mortar:
A MIRV launcher adjusted to launch a single small shell, instead of a cluster.
4 shots per clip, each at about 500 damage(to a player, all normal multipliers apply), with a 1 second "fuse". Roughly 40 ammo(after upgrades).
Sacrifices damage for a cool and different way of operation.
Crazy rating: Low-Medium


Raider:
-Overclocked Plasma Gun/Plasma Auto-Gun:
Basically, Grav-cycle gun in handheld form.
A quick burst of plasma shots, each doing half the normal damage.
Smaller clip(8 rounds), and lower overall damage(50%[base cut]*80%[clip cut]=40% original damage per clip), is compensated with burst damage and a few extra reloads.
Crazy rating: Medium-High


Sentinel:
-Phase Blaster:
A Phase Rifle, that uses no energy and acts like a Nova Blaster when used without zoom.
Also, larger clip(to use un-zoomed more), and higher energy consumption when zoomed(to counteract the previous thing).
Crazy rating: High


Brute:
-Turbo Plasma Cannon:
Plasma Cannon adjusted for use as a Primary weapon.
Extra 50 damage(625 total), increased firing rate to match the raiders Plasma Gun.
Two simple reasons:
-Plasma Cannon should really be a Primary weapon to begin with.
-DOUBLE PLASMA CANNONS!
Crazy rating: Very High




Well, that would be it from me, sorted by crazy, what about you guys?
Just remember, suggest "variants" only, no new models, just functionality.

I would have used the term "bound" for the cluster, as I could imagine a field modification of Glueing the d*** grenade together to get it to do that.

Also, I would really want an arx that has a smaller radius but does more damage with a stick damage bonus. So a smaller radius and 625 damage that does 750 on a stick.

crazy level very low

Boltnuker
STandard boltlauncher with a nuclear warhead added good against HoF
5000 Damage with a blast radius = to a flag stand area.
crazy level, super low

Spectrum Phase Rifle, fires multiple shots in rapid succession, each successive shot hitting with less damage. Total damage equal to a fully charged phase shot. SNT.

Knockback Disc: A disc with a very bright/white spikey halo around it that on impact knocks targets back twice as much but does half the damage. It does not reduce momentum in the slightest, so usage on the flag stand could be unpredictable. It essential functions as a tool to push opponents into comprosing position. SLD.

Rocket Thumper: A non-range restricted thumper (with obvious halo or trail) that does 75% of default thumper. SLD.

High Speed Fusor (sent)
910 damage, twice the speed of normal disks, 150% recharge time (useful for hitting slow moving or stationary targets, bad for hitting fast targets (but a high reward if you do!))
crazy rating: med-high

Beacon Sticky (inf)
0 damage, stays attached to the target (including players!) for 60 seconds. Gives targeting data to all friendlies
crazy: low

Thrown Mortar (Sld)
1300 damage, same radius as the jug mortar. Upset at all the Jugs stealing their spinfusor ammo, soldiers have taken to raiding their mortar rounds to throw.
crazy: yeah, kinda, but funny.

10000 dmg, fires the orbital strike out of a gun all 10 of them requires a 3 second charge
