Thank you HiRez for listening and making the game better. Auto nerf + sentinel 10 sec respawn (Maybe a bit harsh but necessary).

Lightweight+Rage will quite possibly make catching cappers feasible, though we won't know until things go live.

Personally I'm excited.

How?, do you rely on spamming an automatic?

If so, this might just make you put some actual effort into chasing.

only a "bit" harsh? ...hell, it doesn't even address the real problem.

SPOILER ALERT... you're not going to have an easy time killing those "Pub Star" Sentinels anyway. All this does is screw over mediocre SENs like me who get farmed for points b/c no one is watching our backs. Pub Stars usually have a butt buddy or someone who realizes the only reason the flag is being held is b/c the guy with the Rifle has uncanny aim so they protect that guy since it's a lot easier than trying to protect the Stand itself which is being bombarded nonstop by scrubs.

I just hope their comment in the Patch notes about a REAL fix coming eventually is serious.

Holy crap... this patch is so good I'd have thought it was some kind of fake if it weren't linked from the launcher window o_0

I think I'll actually start playing again...
I didn't stop playing out of discontent, more that I got distracted by more entertaining games in the last few weeks, but with the plethora of f***ing awesome changes this patch is bringing T:A will probably move back up to the top of my favourite games list :D


And to the above discussion: The SEN respawn nerf is kind of a place-holder nerf while they figure out a more elegant solution; they stated in their patch notes that they are planning a better solution.
But the reasoning behind the nerf is solid - killing Sentinels in CTF really doesn't do anything, since most snipe from near spawn anyway, so killing them literally only takes a few seconds out of their time and doesn't effect their effectivity much compared to other classes....
A lot of the time it's genuinely more effective to just harrass a Sentinel and not kill him, since it wastes more of his time than a death would, and when not killing an enemy you're fighting is the best option you know there's something wrong with the game mechanics.


PS: Was mention Brute skins ever a thing in the time I've been gone? That was one of the things that dampened my urge to play

I really think they should have just chose a middle ground and made the sentinel respawn time 7 seconds instead of 10.

7 Seconds + the time to fully charge your shot is pretty good IMO.

10 seconds is pretty ruthless on those sents.

That's why I'm promoting an idea other players before me thought of:

viewtopic.php?f=313&t=74287

Let them spawn, just don't let the sniper rifle fire for 5 to 10 seconds, they way the Sentinel can repair stuff, place deployables, get a vehicle, etc. He should still be allowed to use his secondary.

I think this is a good way so classes don't get different spawn times. They ought to all be the same, right?
