Not really. The only thing that turning around lets you do is get some upwards thrust even while already moving quickly, whereas otherwise the thrust pack wouldn't do any upwards thrust at that speed. I don't see it being too useful in actual gameplay.

They have a MUCH smaller arc and travel very quick. More like a cannon. This is how they should be :/

I don't think any of the coders have any idea what a dot product is or how to do rudimentary physics calculations.

This latest whiff on the thrust pack is more fuel to that fire, in addition to the monstrous jetpack gaffes.

They need to get their act together, quick. This was acceptable back in alpha and early beta. I can't believe we made it to release with all these completely broken mechanics.

Unfortunately, these are issues that have been brought up since Alpha and Hi-Rez seems blissfully unaware. That, or they are just completely disregarding what the community has almost unanimously complained about.
Would a lot of these changes be slightly involved or even difficult to implement? Perhaps...but you would really show the community that you want your game to succeed.

Here's what Hi-Rez (understandably) cares about:

This is why they are more concerned with pushing new weapons and skins, than anything else. Buy your boosters and generate some income for this game. This is the entire point of business. Can't blame them for that. And yes, I know, if they were to make these changes, they could stand to make more money. Or not. Hi-Rez may see it differently.
Either way...the physics aren't going to change. I hate to think that, but I truly believe that's the fact. They aren't going to change it. If they were, they would have done it in Alpha, or Beta...or open Beta. Ah well, it will be good for a while.

32 second cap on crossfire, including setup. 7 second return.



I appreciate emergent gameplay and all, but come on. Collisions in this game are seriously messed up. Those rock routes aren't even symmetric.

Just adding myself to the long list of those in agreement with the OP's assessment (especially agree with all the stuff about the jetpack, it has absolutely pitiful lift compared to the jetpack I remember in T1).

Rock routes have been around for a while just not well publicised. It's a pity nobody from H-R chooses to respond to this thread and others of this ilk. Why not just come out and say things are working as intended, or this is being looked at/worked on... anything?

I dont know any game that has so much flaws and f*** ups in the physics part. I guess by now there are quick fixes in the code fixing the problems that are caused by other quick fixes. Now you cant simply get from that point to proper physics. Thats almost impossible without changing way too much code (thats what I guess). So they should know they f*** this up and at the same time there would be no money income from changing this. If I would be them I would keep silent too on this topic... and I would be embarrassed about such bad quality no matter if its f2p or not.

d*** Hirez I want Tribes to be a good and successful game but from a players/customers perspective I somehow hope this fails misserably because I dont want to play more games of this kind in the future! It was a big mistake to give you my money up front for a beta. I really regret that.
