Now I need to make a custom server with only Lava Arena, customize some settings, and call it "NASCAR race".

Yeah, they are really clear and to-the-point.

Agreed that we should make a thread collecting all the demonstrations of wacky behavior.

Someone go back to page 1 look at all the complaints, Count how many problems have been fixed and how many are still complaints. I think it's 80/20%, That's not in there favor. I could be wrong.

This is without a doubt the egg on Hi-Rez's face. And I don't know if they know how to fix it.

Their track record suggests they do not have the programming talent to pull this off.

I did some testing on grenades. The following still use the old fish patch 0% to 100% cosine inheritance. The rest use flat inheritance.

  • Brute Fractal Grenade
  • Brute Light Sticky Grenade
  • Doombringer Frag Grenade
  • Infiltrator Sticky Grenade
  • Juggernaut Heavy AP Grenade
  • Raider EMP Grenade
  • Raider Whiteout Grenade
  • Sentinel T5 Grenade
  • Soldier Anti Personnel Grenade
  • Soldier Frag Grenade XL
  • Soldier Proximity Grenade
  • Technician TCNG

If you're not familiar with cosine inheritance, it means that the amount of inheritance depends on the angle between your firing direction and your motion direction. Firing perfectly forward gives the highest inheritance, but firing at an angle gives lower inheritance.

If you're mathematically inclined, here's a precise description of the idea. Consider the moment at which a player fires a projectile. Let u be the player velocity, v be the naive projectile velocity, x be the angle between u and v, and m and M be constants with 0 <= m <= M <= 1. m to M cosine inheritance sets the final projectile velocity to v + (m + max(cos(x), 0)(M - m))u. Flat inheritance means m = M. The holy grail is m = M = 1. :D
