It won't work too well for people with lower-end computers: The current "screen" works because it's simply a cropped and lightly-filtered version of what's already-being-rendered, so the cost of the eye-candy is minimal.

Once you try to get it to show a different viewpoint, that makes for a jump in how demanding the game is in terms of hardware.

Saber Launcher had been nerfed, and it should never have been.
How hard is that to avoid being locked on when the game clearly tells you you're being locked on? And even if you're too dumb to avoid lock on, how hard is that to shoot down a blinking red missile coming towards you?

Nerfing complete BS weapon like plasma gun aka high rate spinfusor, ok I get it, no problem with that. But nerfing a perfectly legit weapon because some noobs can't learn to play is beyond me.


Also this weapon should at least, at the very least if you change nothing about its speed and dmg, at the very least it should cause flag drop when it hits instead of giving the enemy a nice little boost like it currently does.

I've hit more shrikes with the thumper/dx than I have with the Saber.

That's saying something, and it isn't that I'm a goddess with the thump.

This is something I thought about. Consoles can render 2-4 separate viewpoints without too much trouble. This wouldn't need to be a high-res rendering since it's being crushed down to fit on that tiny screen.

That said, I'm not a game designer/programmer etc. Maybe it's unfeasible, extra network activity from drawing two viewpoints etc. I dunno. At the very least I think it's a cool idea.

Oh, it might be doable, I'm just saying that the current screen-on-a-weapon feature is probably simply grabbing the data from a buffer that's being used for the current view and tweaking it slightly, and a second viewpoint (particularly with fancy highlighting and bordering) means more work.

Missle launcher is not for killing cappers, it's not even for killing people. It's meant for destroying shrikes and beowulfs and the occassional derp who takes a route to high.

It should be kept that way as it takes ABSOLUTELY NO SKILL to use, it's a freaking lock-on auto missle.

If a pathfinder pulls flag and gets away, it's up to the chaser or sentinel to take him down.

I'm opposed to fly-by-wire or manually guided missiles simply because they would require a huge amount of time spent with an unobstructed view of your target and still probably not kill him. It would also be basically useless at long ranges, and if you're shooting targets up close, why not just use the d*** chaingun?

If you play Doombringer, and play it well, you'd realize standing there spending 15 seconds trying to hit someone with a fiddly missile before they duck behind ANYTHIGN is totally unreasonable. I doubt most of the people making these stupid suggestions actually play the class.

I love DMB (and have him mastered), and while using a lock-on missile launcher is fun in the same way sicking a dog on a baddie would be fun, it's unfortunate that this dog appears to be an elderly creature barely able to limp out of the launcher by itself.

With a fly-by-wire missile you spend 15 seconds and kill nothing. With the current Sabre you spend 15 seconds and kill nothing. Except one is fun and one is boring as sin.
