EASY WAY TO GET CUSTOM CROSSHAIRS

Download it here (MD5: C886BB0F2A065D25BE0929A5D02D3A3E). It has one reticle, no hotkeys, no performance hit, and it works in windowed and borderless modes. The top left pixel of the reticle is used as its transparency color. Run it after T:A starts and it automatically exits when T:A is closed.

An update to the autohotkey crosshair overlay: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/20323260/xhair21.7z Changes: -Fixed incompatibility with autohotkey_L -Put back the reload option in tray menu to fix disappearing crosshair -Added a bunch of sample crosshairs Not yet fixed is the base problem that causes the crosshair to vanish. I cannot replicate it personally at all. With rootbeer's experimentation we've found a repeatable cause: alt-tabbing to a different window, then re-activating tribes by clicking on the tribes in the taskbar (and not by alt-tabbing back). This seems to be limited to windows 7. Re: performance issues. In my testing, both this ahk script and blerco's program don't cause any performance loss other than what you may get from running windowed vs fullscreen. If you are having some performance loss but still want to run windowed, I can recommend this procedure: 1. use your graphics drivers to add a custom resolution slightly smaller than your screen res (I do 1600x1024 on my 1680x1050 monitor). 2. Don't use that res for your windows desktop, but change tribes.ini to use it. 3. The crosshair will always center to your tribes window in preference to the entire screen so you don't have to worry about centering.

Hello, klyith here. An update to the autohotkey crosshair overlay:

Changes:
-Fixed incompatibility with autohotkey_L
-Put back the reload option in tray menu to fix disappearing crosshair
-Added a bunch of sample crosshairs

Not yet fixed is the base problem that causes the crosshair to vanish. I cannot replicate it personally at all. With rootbeer's experimentation we've found a repeatable cause: alt-tabbing to a different window, then re-activating tribes by clicking on the tribes in the taskbar (and not by alt-tabbing back). This seems to be limited to windows 7.

Re: performance issues. In my testing, both this ahk script and blerco's program don't cause any performance loss other than what you may get from running windowed vs fullscreen. If you are having some performance loss but still want to run windowed, I can recommend this procedure:
1. use your graphics drivers to add a custom resolution slightly smaller than your screen res (I do 1600x1024 on my 1680x1050 monitor).
2. Don't use that res for your windows desktop, but change tribes.ini to use it.
3. The crosshair will always center to your tribes window in preference to the entire screen so you don't have to worry about centering.

this is PNG because twitter doest allow the bitmap, you just have to save it to ret5.bmp

2 annoying black dots are in there i cant click them to fix it, maybe you have more success
