whelp. How long to you think Tribes Vengeance 2 is going to last?

Longer than T:V1 did, because hey it's F2P!

Yesterday Bart said thrust vectoring is not going to happen (paraphrasing), and that they were happy with inheritance on most weapons (paraphrasing).

Every other question he answered was something like "I don't know, man" or "That's a design team thing"

That's disappointing. Where are these comments?

His Twitch.tv "going over the patch notes" thing he does for 2 hours.

Title says 2.09.12 but it's from yesterday. I listened to the entire 2 hours and I was like "are you f*** kidding me?"

One of the people in the chat room even asked, "how are you guys the best company ever to work with the community?"

I laughed pretty hard.

That could not be more disappointing.

at 47mins 35 seconds I asked bart about the thrust limitation issue:

http://www.twitch.tv/hirezbart/b/309408784

he basically says its by design but does not really know.

i have been waiting for exactly all of these issues to be adressed patch after patch.. now i have to say that Hi-Rez has been listening for a bit.. but it's still sloppy and it still makes the game very, very frustrating.

I totally agree with everything in the OP and i really, but then really hope Hi-Rez will start putting more effort into resolving these (KNOWN) problems. In my opinion this game really has potential.. but they really need to start polishing the core.

They only listen to what they want to hear. They're very well-connected with the community (read: accessible), but they aren't actually responding to any of the major concerns, let alone showing that they are listening.

The only thing they've done of note is removing hitscan (inevitable), and the custom load-outs (and even that is very constricted).

I agree with the complete list. Every single point must be adressed for a good game that lasts.

It's time that we made these issues the central topic of debate on this forum. Weapon/class balancing can go right out the window since it's generally in a good place and can ALWAYS be tweaked after release without much issue.

I'm signing on as fully in agreement with the OP. I'd add that spawn locations are also seriously FUBAR, but maybe that needs to take a backburner to this stuff.

These aren't really balancing issues, HiRez. They are more like "makes sense" issues.

btw, I'm fine with 50% inheritance, but there are weapons out there that don't have this still.

EDIT: I will just add that the reason I'm becoming aware of these issues now instead of earlier in beta is because of the new map that is correctly sized for Tribes. It makes it clear that the physics as they currently are were tailored to small maps. On anything larger the limitations become quite obvious, even for a dunce like me. I am not just jumping on the bandwagon now. I have only just discovered it.

Everything in the OP needs to be addressed. The current physics system is unacceptable.

We need these changes ASAP. The deadline is fast approaching and its typically hard to do a large overhaul of something like this after release.

Please hi-rez, listen to your fans, listen to 14 years of amazing physics based gameplay. There is a reason people still play T2, and its not because the jets are incredibly weak and unintuitive.
