Have you made a support ticket with HR?

thx let me know when its back up

Sorry for the late response, it should be there from what im told...

The link still gives an error message saying that the answer is no longer available, atleast for me it does. All the links that I have found that go to the last resort uninstaller give the same result. I could use the uninstaller right now, my T:A has busted and just needs to be reinstalled at this point really. (The uninstaller application from Hi-rez is busted too, infact everything hi-rez just crashes just after I click to start it up.)

This...

I'm sorry if you were told that it was still up, but it's not.

Regardless, this thread shouldn't even be necessary. Especially this annoying, indirect route just to uninstall the programs. I have yet to play the game because of the authenticate and update service failing to start and all of the fixes in this thread don't even work. I've seen this problem noted over a year ago on these threads, too. Isn't it about time Hi-Rez just fixes their launcher instead of forcing their players to mess with "work-arounds"?

And I have uninstalled/reinstalled countless times and I cannot manually start the service in services.msc.

Yes I made a support ticket, it was running for over a week before they finally kept asking me the same ridiculous questions like If I restarted my computer (even though I said I did in the ticket).

Eventually they closed my ticket because I wasnt notified they sent a response and it had been more than 48 hours.

I reopened it with no response yet (2 days)

I had a ticked about a problem and it ended with this:

Quote:
After reviewing your logs it appears that Windows is using an incorrect .dll, this is unfortunately outside of my area of responsibility and you will have to contact microsoft to fix your problem. The error that kept popping up was: An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007000B)

Does anyone know how to fix it? I don't really wanna go through the Microsoft help as suggested, not good past experience with them.

Try using the google.com tool, it's great for fixing random issues.

Now how didn't I think of that.

Ofc I tried google, but I still haven't been able to find the fix for error (the microsoft hotfix isn't working). I though maybe someone had the same issues with Tribes and managed to find a solution, or knows how to fix it.

Trying to install tribes, I get the following error

"failed to start the hi-rez studios authenticate and update service"

Tried to solve it by ending the installation process before the error so it doesn't delete the files it has already installed. When I try to launch the game it directs me to the diagnostics tool. When I try to run the diagnostic tool I get the error "The Hi-Rez Studios Authenticate and Update Service will not start on this machine", assumingly because the installed failed to install it.

Done most basic stuff like turned off firewall and antivirus, restarted computer, unistalled and reinstalled many times.

Also done the Services.msc thing. When the installer tries to run the authenticate service it goes to starting, but the error message comes before it starts. If I try to start it up again a message pops up and says it automatically closed down because "some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs"

So. Any solution to this problem?

Edit: And here is the link to the uninstaller you're all chattering about http://hirez.http.internapcdn.net/hirez ... taller.exe

I was having this EXACT same problem. After screwing around for hours, I just tried installing it to a folder on the desktop instead of the default directory and BAM! No problems. (also ran as administrator) Hope this helps someone!
