Having been a Tribes one player for many years I have to say guys I'm really excited to see this change!

I just wanted to let HiRez know that this game has potential to be a powerhouse in the fps community. It's a style of fps that the millions of Call of Duty fans have never seen before. You are doing an amazing job and I appreciate you listening to the feedback of your beta testers. Many of us are die hard Tribes fans and we want to help you make the best game possible!

But they will not please Tribers if they keep the set classes model, 2 weapons etc.

This is why it will never be what it could be. :(

(unless they make a 4th server type or something, allow modding/...or w/e idk .. I live in hope)

Hopefully HiRez payed attention to Tribes 1 history and saw how amazing mods were. Modding in tribes will allow great things for this game if they allow it to happen.

I wouldn't mind the 2 weapon limit if they allowed me to customize my loadout.
Here is a good writeup on custom loadouts with balancing ideas which I endorse:

My opinion on loadouts would be to have 5 main weapons and 5 sidearms for each class and maybe 3 of each other category for each class. Every class gets a spinfusor or its variant and players have some form of choice while keeping HiRez's loadout system because as Todd put it new players adjust more easily with loadouts then when they are given complete control over their choice of weapons and stuff.

Agreed. I wish I could upvote this, it's exactly what I want. It will probably be what most people want as well, though with different caveats and restrictions which are inevitable.

If they use this it will be incredible. I'd also add a grappler option for lights and meds.
