Great stuff, maybe we can even play AvA now.

Awesome changes. Next up for consideration:

Crash Issues abounding
Bonuses not being granted when earned in a Raid
Poor loot quality given raid difficulty

Also, EXCELLENT revert with High Sec giving rewards again.

Steam is making me d/l the entire game again it seems.

yah me too, any info on that please?
I don't see how a hotfix ends up in a 3h Download.
My connexion is crap, but still 3h at 240KB/s for a hotfix, this is huge...

It's a steam problem which a few people seem to have.

HR have released a stand-alone launcher which should resolve the issue in the long term, but in the short term I expect you will have to dl the whole game via the new launcher to get started.

Where did you find it?

I advise reading the thread first as I do not use it myself as Steam just downloads the patches for me, not the whole game.

The following hot fix is scheduled to be deployed at 02:30 US Eastern Time (06:30 GMT) on July 27, 2010.

  • A bug has been fixed in AvA that was causing mission instances to crash when AvA turrets were picked up.
  • High Security PvE now provides rewards at Level 30+ (previously ended at Level 29).
  • All end-of-mission token rewards have been doubled from their previous level.
  • An issue that was causing players to not respawn in the correct area in Dome City or the Open Zone following a game crash has been resolved.
  • Backend performance fix to inventory transactions.

+1

While it is true that some of Forge's defenses crashed early due to utilizing platforms, none of it was purposefully done. We use platforms and several of our strats call for them. We made some changes mid-way through the night to cut out all platforms because of the bug ... whereas previously we felt the random chance of it occurring didn't outweigh the legitimacy of utilizing them. Obviously, DigitalSyn owns a few of our hexes now due to that (not blaming the lack of platforms, that'd be silly - just saying we cut them out entirely and that DSyn beat us in a few matches due to no crashes).

What did occur, however, earlier in the day was OBVIOUS platform abuse on behalf of Vanquish. On occasion one or two members would join a defense, spam platforms during pre-match, and lock down the hexes. When both DV8 and Power were open for production last night, Vanquish constantly caused crashes during prematch (whereas DigiSyn did not - props to them) and then went on the attack.

You stopped doing that later in the night and won a few defenses, good job. That doesn't justify the earlier purposeful exploiting done by your team. There's a difference between playing to win and bug exploiting. This was obviously a bug exploit as a patch was coming out to fix it. There really isn't any justification for abusing it, which Vanquish clearly did with full intent.

That is completely false, we had 12 people on last night and sent 2 people to defend a hex against one of your strikeforces. They ended up bringing a bunch of platforms to hold you off while we finished our fight with our main strikeforce.

btw, if you want to play that game I can recall at least 3 games last night where we had you at third point on a steamroll and got DCed as soon as we hit the 3rd point, like clockwork...

AND another game on a defense hex, when we were about to get distro and had your vandal 2 or 3 near death you guys called for a crash. Too bad your guys weren't quick enough to save the vandal, we killed it 1 second before you crashed it.

Unlike you guys we look forward to the rest of this weeks matches, good luck, you'll need it.
