super smash boost can still be an awesome tank tool in pve and now its about the same as the regular boost for people who refuse to use cover. The whole invulnerable while firing mechanic was really why this was so broken, and actually more useful to pve for people who refuse to use cover. Please re-examine the changes made to this and make it a more useful to pve again for people who refuse to use cover. Thanks.

I'm not trolling you honestly, but this is what any semi-skilled player sees in your post. I'm not changing it for them to get a laugh. I'm changing it so you see why people don't agree.

(It's important to note that I even removed my sig image from this post, so you don't feel like I'm laughing at you.)

Taking cover != tanking. I am not making this statement based on solo pve either. Given a competent healer the only time you should need to take cover is when it is obvious that thier healing is not going to be able to keep you up. This tool gives you a countermeasure for not having to take cover all of the time, just like your shields. In this case it is more potent because you can continue firing your weapon. I appreciate that you are not trying to troll me but quite honestly your edits to my post are irrelevant to the argument. Your twisting my intention and infering some lack of skill or a sort of stubborness on my part which I can assure you is not the case. I am simply communicating what aspects of the original skill I found desirable and why. Any inferences on your part or any semi-skilled players part is not relevant specifically because they do not align with my rationale.

I was just sayin.

By the way, I hate playing Assault in this game because they aren't really Tanks. They can't be, though. It's a shooter game. Everyone has to be killable in some way.

Well I dissagree. With a full tank build and various shield tools I am able to tank very well. The difference between a full tank assault and one of the dps builds is huge in my experience. I am not saying i want to be unkillable or anything like that. That is not my objective. From a pve perspective I don't really think this original boost was game breaking, but did enhance my ability to do my job. PvP wise is a different story and I am willing to give up the knockback effect that made it capable of no-skill point capping, I just feel in pve the true greatness had little to do with knockback, rather the perfect target but be able to shoot effect.

The knockback wasn't the exploit in PvP, though. Contrary to Erez's post on the subject, knockback for a point is ridiculously useful (and creative). Not being able to kill someone who is capping a point is completely exploitive.

I dont understand how you dont feel the knockback was causing the problem. If your guys arent getting knocked off the point, then there is no way for the guy to cap it, even if he is invincible for 10s. A better nerf would have been to simply add a perfect target like effect to the character who is shielded to not be able to cap anything. I would rather they take this boost back to the drawing board and come up with something more creative than simply taking our original boost, making it single target and adding a knockback effect, because thats really all it is now. Very little differentiation in terms of playstyle and a half assed fix in my opinion.

Good changes for the boosts.

AvA.... eh... we'll see.

AvA seriously needed a mechanic that makes it exponentially harder to keep large territories. I've been asking for this for over a month now. We might ACTUALLY have a player-driven world soon. *GASP*

Well... I'm not holding my breath to see if these changes make AvA any more casual/small agency-freindly.
