i dont no how you did it, but if you read them all back to back its paced just perfect for that last line to have maxium impact as you sort of forget about the good doctor and until the massive OH WAIT YER hits you when you remember the name :P, you best expained this story into a novel to go with the game the writeing here rivals some of best books iv read

First off... Solace... called it. :ugeek:

Second, I am rather surprised that an AI would hold so much malice towards its own kind. It's clear that it sees humans are easily manipulatable, but it went waaay out of its way to ensure that another AI of its level could never be developed, for fear that it would become a threat. I find that kind of paranoia and distrust to be a rather human attribute. I think Avatar might have some personal issues.

I hope Wilkins died happy. It only said she had a smile on her face. People who have snapped often smile too.

Also, Agatha was rather naive. If she realized that Avatar was an AI advanced enough to have done all that it had done already, did she really believe just "turning off" auto pilot would be enough to stop it from siezing control of the ship's systems anyways?

I am starting to wish we could work for Avatar though. Do we have to side with the resistance and insurgence factions?

 Here's a funny ingame though, "Yeah, I wiped the group several times. I don't suck, I'm just siding with Avatar."

This string of events was told as a mistery with a cheery on top... I just finished reading all the whole fiction and I must say I am deligheted. I just hope more of this great work keeps coming!
Nathan Knaack is briging depth and life to the story of Global Agenda.

no way this can end here- unless the game story line continues it. . .
( Mr. Knaack please see cry of desperation in the subtext :( )

I read this and stayed awake last night messing with the plot lines in my head . . .
"gateway" to what- - - it was a signal beacon? and agatha was a sacrificial pawn- or was she convicted to death by avatar?

i don't know what to make of avatar- between the destuction of all ai in that elaborate plan, killing agatha, master manipulation of humanity to unseen ends- hmmm

avatar is either going to be the perfect enemy or unstoppable ally. . . i love the ambiguity

Mr. Knaack- I really like the subplots that tie to an expansive, major plot revolving around avatar over decades . . . awesome idea with great execution. thanks.
iv'e actually gotten a sci-fi infection from this stuff and have shoved down 4 other random sci-fi novels this summer because of your shorts and this serial. thanks again.

NO ELVES! D:

Arg, I don't read often, this definitely had me trapped for a good hour or so. I might just... become an avid reader, and get books, the thought of it even, blasphemous.

Well, Rp wise you could. Each agency can pretty much have whatever motives they choose to Rp. "Agents of Avatar" would be a simply way to let people know and give a wee nod to this amazing fic.

I think it's more likely avatar intended to sacrifice her all along to expose the "Harmonious existence" or whatever it was terrorist group. Without having gotten rid of them, the world could have been tossed back into conflict again.

i don't know what to make of avatar- between the destuction of all ai in that elaborate plan, killing agatha, master manipulation of humanity to unseen ends- hmmm

Well, it's quite possible avatar wishes to safeguard humanity to some degree. I think he was responsible for the defective androids killing workers just to bring the angst and attention to the issue, as well as manipulating the crash so that to the general public, AI could be a scapegoat, while the goverment could find out who agatha really was and who she "really" worked for.

avatar is either going to be the perfect enemy or unstoppable ally. . . i love the ambiguity

I think the idea is "Save humanity from itself." so in a sense, he's both, but overall its for the greater good.

Methinks if the other fics are anything near this, they all aught to have their place in game. As well as any additional bits in the future.

Post Re: Fiction - Avatar, Part III - Martyr
Just have a few things I think ya missed. Hopefully this helps

Harriet caught the young man’s eyes and chastised him in a hushed voice so as not to alert the nurses just outside the door, “Stop acting like I’m a fragile old woman and please, just call me Harriet while I’m here. If we wait for you to call me by my title every tile we speak, I’m going to be here all day.” She adjusted her posture in the hospital bed and joined him in staring at the digital display at a machine nearby. “I’m sure you understand how busy I am.”
“time” ?
“Thirty seconds, Captain,” the voice from the control bunker updated. Then, as if reading from a prepared statement that he issued to all astronauts, he droned, “Remember, the navigation system is already programmed for the mission and flight AI will handle almost any foreseeable course corrections. If the need arises for you to perform a manual maneuvering of the orbiter, you will be prompted by mission control. For now, relax and have a nice flight, Captain.” It suddenly occurred to Agatha that, if she did need to take over at the helm, she really had no idea what to do beyond the most basic system she had picked up just by being round the base.
“systems”?

I swear I saw a third but cannot find it now that I go back, oh well, hopefully these help.
