Honestly, if somebody called a random person and tried to explain the Tribes series to them in a 20 minute phone conversation, the person who received the call could come up with a better way to make a Tribes game than HiRez.
Let's be honest here. This game has all kinds of things that are just plain stupid. The original set of weapons was pretty stupid, then they trumped it with even dumber weapons post-launch. They introduced buyable skins that don't even suit the artstyle.
A lot of the problems can be blamed on the absolutely moronic decision to use an F2P model. It kills balance and it causes the addition of lots of unneeded content that only serves to further hurt the balance of the game. It also means that you have to spend money to properly play certain classes, which means that some classes are artificially more played than others. We also have unlockable weapons that are just blatantly better than their free counterparts.

But it doesn't end there, there are lots of bad design choices that are unaffected by F2P.
The map design is so terrible they often had to remove certain maps. There are a lot of terrible bandaid fixes, the physics are plain silly, airstrikes, lack of teamwork, and the list goes on...

The best thing they could do right now is just give this game away to an other developer and let them fix it.

If this happens, I will buy $100 of smite gold (which I will never use)

I did, I came back to the forums to see if any improvement have been made to the physics. I'll probably disappear off the forums in a few days as well.

I don't know where else to put this so I'm just going to tack it onto here, something that's bothering me now.

Why must I play Planetside 2 to get decent vehicles like proper tank, havoc (Galaxy Transport), better fighters (Reaver, Mosquito etc.) a working and decent 3 person bomber... this is all stuff that was in T2 and SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN ASCEND

Gah... well, I'm getting more of a T2 vibe from Planetside 2 than Ascend. In a few short hours of playing a (rather) unfinished beta there I get MORE TEAMPLAY than many, many hours and matches from unfinished "released" version of Ascend. I know where I'll be playing more at least in the near future.

That game doesn't even have skiing. It doesn't have working "V" chat (yet) but already there's far more teamwork going on there.

PS2 has now gone into "buy into beta" phase btw. Expect to lose more Ascend players and the population to decline even more. Hi-Rez could have and should have done so much more.

My pleasure :) I just wish HiRez would be equally appreciative and would change their means of communication with the community to something like Red5 studios are doing with FireFall.

thats kinda funny to me, you want the current devs to start acting like the original devs of tribes? hehehe that ship sailed ages ago.
