There's no excuse for having green armor in the 30+ bracket now.
*** DO NOT BUY FLAIR *** ...until you have all of your gear
1. Get a full set of blue armor, I'd start working on buying them right away even before I was level 20. (they cost credits now)
2. As soon as I had full blue armor I'd start buying blue mods for each of them.
3. Use tokens for primary weapons, things that I'd be using 90% of the time in every match (BFB, focus arm, IC, SMG, PT, etc). While saving up my money/mats for epic mods
4. After primary weapons are bought start working on epic armor with tokens.
You'd probably get some armor drops between steps 2-4, but it won't be worth it to equip that armor unless it has better stats than your current armor (nbb is not better than nr) AND until you put a mod on it.
1. I'd save my money for purple gear, assuming that the player bought Elete before 20 (or just after) & does not play alot of PvP (eg more likely to roll for gear), & does not plan to buy a boost. Also, if you feel you are a weak link, then buy the blues. But having a few N or R green gears at 20 is not an issue; that is only a few percentage points. At 30, or going into AVA, you need to be out of green & atleast purple with useful stats on your top 4 gear.

2. Right now blue armor enchants are cheap. But with the new outdoor area in v1.5, you can farm enough mats for someone in your agency to make purple mods for you (or level up mod-making yourself). So don't feel shy about slapping blue mods on green gear & purple on blue gear. (Blue gear is far cheaper than purple to fix BTW).

3. Token/mods priorities should be: Primary weapon, often used offhands (everyone has 2-4 of these), semi-often used 2nd weapon, then what ever else you think your AvA strike force or raid would like you to have.

4. I personally think that Epic armor should not be bought until towards the end now. If you're in an Agency, you can swap materials (& tip ;) ) for purple mods, so you are talking only about 7% extra bonus of blue vs purple armor, & you'll save on repair costs. Better weapons & offence off-hands = faster enemy deaths, you you'll live longer. Better defensive off-hands = less damage taken or more healing, so you (& likely others) live longer. Better armor before other stuff = you & the enemy lives longer. I guess that is OK if you want to have longer battles.

But please folks, if you're going into PvP at level 25+, esp AvA, have purple (or minimum blue) mods on everything. There is no good excuse not to anymore with 1.5 patch.

I kind of wish there was a refund option, last time I bought and OC grizzly by accident and forgot I already had one, I wish you had like 15 minutes to decide if you want to refund your most recent purchase.

Though it's completely my fault for being downright dumb and not double checking, I don't know how I forgot I already had an OC grizzly in the first place, probably stopped playing for a week or so.

Post Re: GUIDE: Spending your Tokens/Credits Wisely
i have a question:

as a free agent, i've noticed i only get credits as a currency, and for some reason i am either unable to salvage, or i'm doing it to the wrong things, altho i don't think thats the case as its old armor/weaps im doing it to.

anywho.

all the vendors ive seen thus far only take tokens or AP, no one seems to take credits, so what good are the 40k i have sitting around for?

thanks!

buying things in the regular class stores or the auction house. but you're not an elite, so you can't use the auction house. you can also donate them to your agency for use.

Tokens aren't rewarded from repeatable NS quests. Merc/SpecOps etc reward tokens to free agents, but they go pretty slow.

After making and playing a free agent account through both deserts and some pvp and pve missions, I kinda believe they should be able to recieve COD's. I would keep all other restrictions as they are but credits build up at a decent rate and it would be nice for them to be able to buy mods via COD if nothing else.

thanks for the feedback, gonna wait awhile to decide whether to up to an elite acct. so far its just me, not part of an agency, perhaps that will change as well.

I recommend making friends with some people and all going to an agency.

Spend your tokens at the brothel in the Commonwealth City open PvP zone. That's where..... it doesn't exist.
