They gotta fix HeBo and soon... he gets free kills like CRAZY. His instadeath combo kills over half the characters in the game! Only ones that survive to get splashed afterwords are tanks...

He is FAR to strong end-game in his current form. I've both played with and against him and right now he's a surefire way to get to the top of the killstreak. Granted his escape isn't really good but once he gets his opener on you it's instadeath mode :(

The fact that there are CD reducing items doesn't help the matter ... Now I'm not the best smite player in the world, but the fact that people who JUST pick up the character land better on the kill board then others who have dedicated time and patience to learn they characters should say something... He's got too much going for his offensive. He can't stay alive long sure I'll give you that but the same can be said of Artemis, Freya or Ra yet those characters can't compare to the awesome instadeath combo HeBo has going for him.

I see people above struggling with numbers but here's the thing, in COMBAT where procs happen and debuffs apply he is FAR too strong end-game. He can pretty much go toe-to-toe with ANY character on the roster and WIN. If characters are balanced rock-paper-scissors style then HeBo is a grenade.

Now I've put my concerns on the forums in the past yet everywhere I look there's HeBo defenders popping up from everywhere and I give credit when credit is due but everyone has to take a deep breath and say it: HEBO IS UNBALANCED. He's not hilariously broken, he's not the strongest character out there right now, but he is the ONE character that can 100% guaranteed CHAIN a kill due to a quick combo, incapacitating & slow.

Like the mechanics? Yeah he's got some great stuff, but lets tone the damage a bit so he's not such a beast at high levels. He scales FAR too good and his racial is CRAZY! 15% magical power increase for 5 seconds?! Here's a question: Why does HeBo's racial last 5 seconds when Artemis gets only 4? Oh and 15% crit vs 15% Magic Power... yeah... I'll go with the Magic Power.

Alrighty sry for the long line of text I'm sure folks will jump at me quick but here's the short story:
- instadeath combo
- great damage output at high levels
- can take down all characters instead of tanks in a blink of an eye
- great racial (possibly the best for DPS)
- incapacitating move that applies a slow together with the water path AND the ultimate to RUN away
- his Water Canon does great damage late game and the 3 sec CD makes it ideal to stack racial

If that isn't enough you can just buy a sprint ;)

The bad:
- He is squishy when everything is on CD... oh wait just 10sec CD on WaterSprout,10 sec CD on Flood Waters

The fact that his water cannon has a 1 second cool down, is absolutely stupid. Not only is his burst damage through the roof, the cooldowns are incredibly low, making him so dumb. Increase those cooldowns or something.

as with many gods, it's not hebo but the fact they put CDR on too many items and set the cap too high. 20 percent CDR is probably a fair cap and certain items just shouldn't have CDR at all. Celerity and hydra should lose that stat.

Yes Hebo deals a truck load of damage.
He has to. He is a BURST mage. He and nOObis are the only 2 burst mages in the game.
Agni can sometimes burst, but he has more of a semi-burst sustained damage kind of kit.
Is he OP/Imba... aka needs a nerf? NO!

I´ll tell you why.
Hebo is extremelly positional and extremelly team dependent. You go in too deep, you´re toast. You stay too far back... your WC is out of range.
All of his kit rellys on this premiss. High damage burst skills with the drawback of having to be in "melee" range for optimal kit usage. I cannot enphasize this enough. Hebo is THE most team dependent mage. Get a good team... he will have a field day. Get a poor team/good opponents... he will be starved all game long.

I have over 310 games with Hebo and i know the God like the palm of my hands.
Yes he is pretty strong, but he can be shut down SO easily by a competent player/team. And i do mean SO easily.
Once you SEE enemy carries AAing you for over 1k damage... you will realize just how frail HeBo is.
And how imba AD carries are. But thats another story.

I must be doing something wrong when I play Hebo, most people I face seem competent enough to realize they could fart in my general direction and knock me down to half hp. Sure, It's possible to fend people off toe to toe, I've done it, but It's usually a pretty dicey situation and if just one other enemy God shows up I'm toast or I've gotta run away. (unless they're brain dead)

It's the same as if you didn't watch any burst character and let them frolic, If you don't want him bursting you down then punish him early, if you have any sort of presence at all then he'll probably back off if you run at him, otherwise he'll probably try to fight you, if he's good then it has nothing to do with Hebo's kit and if a s*** player got you then you just didn't think about juking his spout or teasing him to blow his WC on air, it has a low cool down but that one second could mean instant death for the Hobo.

Anytime I'm in a position to harass a burst mage, I do it. It's just not good to leave them to their own devices, sadly I've gotten heckled for doing this with Hercules lol.

Then again, I pretty much only play Arena so my opinion really only applies to the team fighting dynamic lol.

He Bo is really one of the most balanced gods in the game. Yes, he has one of the best burst damage in the game, but he is way way way way squishy. One mummify from anubis or freeze from ymir and he's as good as dead.

He's another snowball god. He gets kills quick early, he dominates for the rest of the game. If he gets shutdown, or even just on level with the enemy, he won't hold up as well late game. There's a reason he isn't ever used on a competitive level.

I don't personally know much about He Bo, because his playstyle isn't really mine. But uh, just putting this here. Lassiz from Juice Gaming playing He Bo in the finals. Does well, if I recall.

Hebo is fine. He's strong but only if you get near him. And he's quite squishy. Keep your distance until you're ready to lock him down and kill him.

I think the issue I have with He Bo is definitely the cooldowns...yeah if you get in his face or he misses all of his spells (unlikely) then you got him...but that doesn't happen often. Also when he is ganking and you don't know about it you are dead...no ways around it, that's how it is. The arguement could be said about ganking in general...but pretty much every other god doesn't have the burst to kill you and if you have a leap you can pretty easily escape a gank (unless you are stun raped of course)...just something about He Bo that I hate lol...just sucks to know you can die in literally 2 seconds. Burst mage or not I don't think he should be THAT powerful. Maybe cut the damage in half and keep the cooldowns how they are to counter it or at least give a chance to survive. Just my .02

Step1; Play Artemis

Step 2: Fight He Bo

Step 3: laught at the imbalance as....

-His knockup affects you faster than you can shoot volley

-He 3 shots you with any of his dmg abilities

-You manage to get a volley off on him, followed by ulti boar stun and vengance nuke, getting him to 2/5-1/2 hp and then he turns around and ultis you, hitting you for 80%hp and then cannons into your face

-He dodges 50% of your autoattacks and then comes up and blasts you with cone attacks






Honestly if I could permaban one god it would be He Bo

-Hel is not even close to OP but always banned and has no escape

-Anubis has to land his stun which is avoidable and at least some travel time and CAN BE BEADS'd (unlike knockup) and has no escape

-Xblanque relies on autoattack hits late game which are again skillshots and avoidable and his escape isn't that great

-Sobek needs to land his charge which doesn't go through minions and relies on partner to get kills in conjunction with him
