Actually 4 am eastern time. She must get up early to feed the internal testers.

At the start of a CaH round I always spawn next to or inside 1 or more enemies. It normally means the game starts off pretty chaotically.

Removing the grate isn't as simple as it sounds, as it's part of the base mesh asset itself. As mentioned before, I don't have control over most aspects of the art- I cannot remove or change things in the map files, but I can add meshes and adjust points/stations as needed

What!? Your art department isn't following orders from design?

You'll just wait and see what your art department comes up with and design around their meshes?

I kind of raised an eyebrow at that too. It doesn't exactly take a team of engineers to change a mesh, why is there so much red tape just to make a simple adjustment?

Not at all- however, as this map is a port from an earlier version of Raindance (a map that has been in every iteration of Tribes), the entire base is solid and enclosed and always has been. The art team made the grate visual to allow for more light in there.

However, what I was saying is that because this is using a CTF map file for the base assets, terrain, etc, I do not own the ability to make changes to the map itself. I can add things (like walls in the Katabatic base), but I cannot move, delete, edit, or generally change things in a map I don't own.

Maybe the grate changes should be included in the CTF version as well? There's another thread for that though.

And then they'll have to deal with the people who don't like the changes and want the bases back to the original. ;)

Well that much was obvious  I thought you were implying that the assets were locked, my bad.

As I said, this suggestion is carried over from the Raindance CTF thread. I feel that the change would improve gameplay for both game modes.
