Map feedback - Tartarus [CTF]

After playing a few game on Tartarus as HoF i have come to the conclusion that the flag stand is just to small.

1st. There's only enough room for 1 force field at the flag stand.
2nd. There's not enough space to spread mines out so they don't all die to one spinfuser disk.

What i'd like to see is this.

A helipad like this would give enough room for 2 force fields to be placed around the flag and also hopefully enough space so one PTH can't clear all the mines in one shot. Of course the helipad would need to be converted to a more tribes like style but i feel this pic is a good starting point.

this map is impossible to HoF on, you get sniped miles away by mortars/spinfusors and ESPECIALLY snipers across the map, change the stand because it just makes me quit defending

apart from this, this map is amazing

would be nice for a sunstar type flag forcefield, make the gene worthwhile and make the flag actually defendable if the gene is up, but more open to fast caps if its down.

Konstant SF disk spam from anyone not to mention the usual juggernaut spam . That is normal but the spot is shooting range the HoF is cannon foder.

The Consensus?

Great map, crap stand. Just make it a bit harder to spam/grab!


Large boulders, trees, or an old gazebo with vines n' stuff growing off it...

Perhaps also raise the general stand area onto a mound, so it's both slightly harder to grap and so the chasers can have a quick way to build up speed.

Digging the map in general.

The flag stand has one issue that's kind of a pain, though:

There are 6 turrets visible in that screenshot. I believe there were two more in the vicinity.

No other map out there has a flag stand quite as open. It's not the open flag stand I mind (in fact, I rather like it), but the way turrets can easily be spammed on it.

Yeah, you can have someone clear it out like any other flag stand. But this just seems excessive regardless.

Your team sucked. Every game I've had the defenses dont last 5 seconds, with spinfusor and mortar spam keeping the stand constantly cleared.

I dont think i've ever seen defenses work on this map, its practially a free flag grab, and very difficult to chase on.

It's Beautiful but it has the Worst Flagstand I've ever seen on any Map.
Needs some Generator Powered Shields on one side so that it's actually defendible.... way too easy for even Bad Cappers to grab at 250+ b/c the easy-mode for Route running.

Played it a few more times and still say its a bad map, it just doesnt play well which leads me to believe that who designs maps doesnt play the game
