This map's pretty awful because of the jet pack mechanics, to be honest. Even if you're at full energy and you walk out of the platforms just an inch chances are you're dead.

Yes. It was a fun map with T2 jets. With the state of jetpacking in Ascend, I'm not really a fan of either air map. Splash damage + knockback + horrible jets leads to too many deaths by falling. Even when you just barely maneuver out of a fall, you have zero energy and people can splash damage you with no difficulty.

THis map reminds me a LOT of the classic UT custom map Forsakken Sky. That map was awesome in UT99, and then the remix in UT2k3 and UT2k4. Was really popular with the lowgrav instagib scene and a lot of remakes followed.

By chance is that map the inspiration for this one?

No the map was inspired by FlyingElmo's Tribes 2 map "Aeroena," and he originally was inspired by bomberman when making the map.

When originally doing this map, Bart gave me 4 pictures printed out on one paper to use as reference- 2 were of the original Bomberman map, and 2 were of the Aeroena variation.

Don't know if it's because I use the minecraft.ini but when I am in air firing to someone who is at the top of me I just can't know if i am still moving up or if i am falling. It made me fall many times.

Maybe adding more details in the sky will make it easier to know where you are exactly and where are you going to.
I mean if I there are some orbital balls (maybe you can say it's sensors) in the sky and I see this orbital moving up then I can think "OMG I am falling ! Look down Kavlo or you won't lend on a platform".

Do you think it's a good idea to add it ?

PS : If someone doesn't understand i can try to explain it with other words. sorry for my english :S

Don't look up when falling / get a better sense of where you are.

I look up to shoot someone.
And at this moment I don't even know i am falling so I just can't use your advice.
These "things" in the sky are here to tell you "You are falling".

But if you can't tell you're falling by the fact that your target is getting further away/you're out of energy/game sense, how would another object better facilitate that?

In fact, the two times when i fell in the void without knowing it, the ennemy was falling too. but he wasn't straight at top of me so he lend on a platform.

I think it will facilitate it because these objects won't move.

And so naturally you didn't think to go into T2 to get a firsthand look at aeroena yourself? Is this seriously the person making these maps? People like FlyingElmo cranked out originals and remakes of T1 maps that were more accurate AND at a faster pace for free. What exactly are they paying you for again?

Oh and lol that you deleted my post about you renaming "aeroena" to "air arena."
