Apparently this new version of PhysX allows, "Dishonored" to run, but will crash Tribes. So if you have recently downloaded, "Dishonored" immediately update your PhysX driver to avoid any crashes with Tribes. _________________ This is why I delete/move threads viewtopic.php?p=787021#p787021

I have recently installed Dishonored on my computer. Since then, Tribes has been crashing to desktop shortly after I click "PLAY" with the error "Tribesascend.exe has stopped working" I have uninstalled and re-installed Tribes with no positive result. Your instructions are to update the physX drivers. I'm using an AMD/ATI Radeon HD6850 with the latest driver. When I look up PhysX Drivers online I'm finding drivers for Nvidia graphics cards. Is there A PhysX version for AMD/ATI cards, or is this fix only for Nvidia users? I apologize for sounding totally illiterate here. Please let me know if there is any more information I can provide about my system or software to help fix this. Cheers

I've installed the latest version of physx, uninstalled tribes wiped out the crazy stuff in the registry and reinstalled to no avail. While Nvidia does own PhysX the program itself is not vendor specific. Meaning it is used by cards other than Nvidia. I've downloaded and installed the latest physx software from the Nvidia site. This has indeed cleared up my problems with Tribes. Tribes is running with no problems now after using this fix. Thankyou for posting this.

I am having the same problem, also an AMD card.

I've installed the latest version of physx, uninstalled tribes wiped out the crazy stuff in the registry and reinstalled to no avail.

You will still need to download and install a later PhysX version. While Nvidia does own PhysX the program itself is not vendor specific. Meaning it is used by cards other than Nvidia. Just wanted to say thanks for answering my questions about physx.
I've downloaded and installed the latest physx software from the Nvidia site. This has indeed cleared up my problems with Tribes.
Tribes is running with no problems now after using this fix.
