Firstly, I just want to address that I think a new game-mode like this would be successful because it allows gen room "whoring" part of a productive tactic. I personally enjoy defending the generator and attacking the other team's generator from time to time, though CTF is not always the best mode to offer those opportunities. This mode should also offer new tactics and make some of the items/classes more useful.

please don't mistake me as a genwhore. :geek:

So, here is my main idea. Imagine CTF, but a well protected generator to destroy in place of a flag to capture. The objective is to destroy the enemy generator. The winner could also be determined by which teams' main generator has the most HP left at the end of the match time, or it could just be a draw.

(description in image) This idea is based on having one main generator per team which must be protected with a normal generator as support (just like CTF) which will power defenses around the main generator, making it significantly harder to attack. Use your imagination for what the main generator is powering in the tribes world. Using credits to repair the main generator could also be useful as quick fixes.

Also, the main generator doesn't necessarily have to be another generator. It could be any "high priority" target to destroy.

Another idea, though I don't think it offers as dynamic gameplay.

Nothing wrong with the old Defend and Destroy game type...
Really rather miss it.
