I'm not saying eliminate it just make it a little more challenging than simply lobbing a single charge to end a flag chase.

There is also a perk to prevent it, if it is that much of a problem to you.

Iron Grip is still a perk? Or whatever it was called.

There really needs to be some improvement on this. Someone with full health and the flag should not be stopped cold by one person with this belt item. At the very least there should be a counter pack or a health requirement, ie less than 50% health you are vulnerable.

Because right now people have figured out you only need one of these guys around the flag to stop flag grabbers. One hit and the flag is dropped.

It is by far the least skilled function in the game and one of the most impactful.

I'm assuming that you mean the pathfinders impact nitron? General consensus is that chasing is broken, so removing the nitron would result in an almost guaranteed cap. Reach negates the Super Heavy perk for the most part. So what is your suggestion to fix things? Or are you only biotching about your inability to cap?

nitrons are a stupid mechanic that make stalemates and escorted slower grabs home extremely difficult to achieve. A lot of comp players have been asking for nitron nerfs for a long time now.

the game has to be fast,
escorting a heavycarrier (without nitro for chasing) woud be slow.
hirez show zero interest in slowed movement(nitro/openstand/gravity at high speed).
your desired gameplay of competiv gameplay and interesting fighting stand in a completly different gamedesign decission then T:Ascend.
asking for remove of knockout in the current gamedesign, is kinda pointless.
you might instead ask for a different game/mode/design or shoud move toward another game.

Something I actually agree with comp people about, nitrons are stupid and unnecessary in a game where chasing actually works.

IMHO the 100% effectiveness within it's radius EVERY TIME is a problem.

IMHO the Nitron should not do any damage at all, but have a higher chance of succeeding the lower the targets health and the closer the hit.

So a fringe hit on a full health capper should have a low chance of causing the fumble, while a direct hit on a capper with 300 health or less should gauruntee a fumble.

I'll assume you are joking since the impact nitrons do 300 damage on direct hit. :D

Jesus f***ing tap dancing christ.

Nitrons absolutely should not be nerfed. I remember when they not only forced a flag drop but caused you to lose your pack AND weapon as well. Except they were called concussion grenades then, you got 5 as a light and any armor could carry them. Kids these days really don't want a challenge when they play a game.

Interesting to hear this from the comp players. My success rate as a Soldier Capper would at least double if the nitron was removed or nerfed significantly. I can only imagine what it would do for the pathfinder if the only thing he needs to worry about was autos or a welcoming committee at his flag stand.

I love escorted flag runs. They're extremely fun and exciting, both as a participant and as a spectator.

So how would you fix chasing if the nitron was nerfed?
