HvCNaTeDoGG Joined: Sat Jun 02, 2012 2:10 am Posts: 19	Tribes is BACK! I came across Tribes Ascend a few hours ago. I downloaded it. I played one deathmatch game. I closed it and immediately bought $50 of Tribes gold. I don't even know what that is. All I know is that this new Tribes is f*** awesome! I loved Tribes 1 and I am the author of the HaVoC mod. I really miss the game and over the years I've repeatedly tried to explain to people how a jetpack makes a FPS amazing. I'm super happy it is back! This incarnation is good, I had a blast right off the bat. Great job! I really hope you guys can keep this up. Free to play is smart because the gameplay is great, so there will always be lots of players. I just hope enough of them cough up the cash to keep things improving. I have lots of reading to do still, and I need to find out what the hell it is I bought, but so far I've read that you guys bought the Tribes franchise and have a grand vision for what you can make it. You're probably still less than level 10, when you hit level 10, you'll have a whole new world to explore. In case your wondering, everybody under level <=9 plays together, and >=10 plays together.

The complaining does seem slightly higher than typical on the innertubes, but I take it with a grain of salt. Turtling wah wah wah. I watched a 15 minute video of the NJ5 being OP. Seems like HiRez has changes planned there, so that is good. Fast iterations would be good. Banning for an in-game exploit seems odd. Even more strange is the thread got deleted while I was reading it. Hopefully our overlords are ultimately reasonable. Team stacking, pubs always suck in team games. I'd vote for shuffling, autoswitching, and disallowing unfair team changes for pub servers. It sucks to not get to play with friends sometimes, but pubs are more full of single players. Take satisfaction that you get to shoot your friend in the face and maybe next round you get on the same team. Custom load outs, I can see both sides. Balance is waaaay easier with load outs, which makes it easier to add a wider variety of weapons, so people are probably going to have to deal with it. At this point I'm just glad to be playing Tribes again. I won't let the complaining bias me, I won't be jumping on any bandwagons unless something really gets to me.

You're probably still less than level 10, when you hit level 10, you'll have a whole new world to explore.

In case your wondering, everybody under level <=9 plays together, and >=10 plays together.
