Post Fix fractals already >_<
Green beams firing from all the way across the map, grenades detonating without any visual effects or noise, grenades causing damage in areas where they clearly aren't even detonating, getting shot by the beams seemingly through solid walls, and flying quite obviously over a fractal yet still taking damage as if it were shooting invisible beams straight up...

Flag-stand clearing imbalance aside, these wouldn't be nearly as irritating if I could see the green beams of doom and actually know that a fractal is exploding there, and not, say, 400 meters away, in another building entirely.

Top fractal annoyances:

  • Fractals which are under the floor (visually, at any rate) so you don't have a clue what's causing all the damage.
  • Getting hit around walls and ledges. If there's no line-of-sight to the fractal, I ought to be safe, right?
  • Being unable to distinguish which team a given fractal belongs to, particularly if someone on my own team is also using them in a pub.

That more of a problem throughout all weapons, like if you a guy in the gen room with a ally jug and a enemy jug, either way you can't tell which mortar is which unless one has a fusion and the another has a MIV

It's also irritating when you get hit by the edge of a grenade and it splashed you *towards* the grenade. Most of my deaths to them are because I got hit by one beam and it magically sucks me in towards the center and I can't escape.

Nobody will deny that was fractals do to a flag stand isn't broken. They need to remove the damage it does to turrets, forcefields, and dropped explosives like mines.

If the Brute's team couldn't grab a flag or point while fractals were detonating on it it wouldn't be an issue, but defending a flag is hard enough - a single Brute just needs to run in and vomit fractals all over the stand which:

- Destroys all deployables in/on/around the flag or point.
- Forces all defenders to move very, very far away from the flag or point or be killed.
- Creates a nice bright perfectly safe landing strip for incoming flag / point cappers.

Friendly fire obviously fixes this, but friendly fire is quite obviously not the norm and the grenade should be balanced around the fact that 98% of games played are played without friendly fire.

Most of this complaint though is based around the stupid graphics glitches that I see ten times a game. C&H Raindance is probably the worst one - I frequently see fractal beams shooting halfway across the map.

And this pretty much destroys any usefulness the Brute had left.

Fractals on a flagstand aren't nearly as OP as one guy, with a Mortar, who launches 3 MIRVS from halfway across the map.

No, i'm not bad. Some people can just recreate bugs easier than others.

No offense, I just thought this was hilarious.

The Brute is no less useless than the Soldier. Both of them have no serious role except to kill bitches. If you can't make use of that, that's your problem.

The only issues I have with the Brute is that it has no clearly-defined role and the energy regeneration is awful.

Giving them an unstoppable stand-clearing suicide weapon is only something a complete and utter moron would think is a solution. Making them break an already broken game even more just because you're terrible with a spinfusor is stupid.

Ohhh yeah i can agree with the issues, i get annoyed at times when i should be out of the range yet i still get hit. Btw i agree also that the nade is good for clearing flag stands for a good 5s but tbh i don't see much going for the brute other then that, even then a good jug can still control a flag stand more longer.

Whoah man no need to get personal.

For me,

Soldier =

+Killing
+Capping
+Regen
+Mobility

Whereas Brute, compared to Soldier, is none of those things.

What do you think Banelings or Terrorists or Techies have in common from all different games? The suicide mechanic can work if done correctly.

Right now this "unstoppable" stand-clearing mechanic is not nearly as useful as a Juggernaut launching MIRVS onto the stand, because, as you said, often times this "stand-clearing suicide weapon," is just that, a, "SUICIDE WEAPON."

If ANYTHING the Brute-CIDE tactic is a last ditch effort for a clear flag, in almost all other situations MIRVing the hell out of the flagstand is more useful, because when I MIRV the flagstand, I don't just randomly explode and die. I can keep doing it. And if someone bothers me? I use the LMG, then go right back to perma-bombing the flagstand.

I get that Brute-CIDING has issues, trust me, I do, but to fix it, and not address other spam issues would be just nuking the usefulness of the class by a huge percent.
