Scripting to outpass click to fire is OP -_-

Base XP = time played
BonusXP = [25%Base XP/rank] + [badges] + [25%Base XP if win]
Thus XP is only based on :
1.time played in the match
2.team choosed
3.position achieved in the team
Kills/accolades/credits/score mean nothing.
Found on the wikia and checked on many scorescreens.

Besides, it's not like scripting to automate stupid actions wasn't prevalant in other Tribes. My scripts directory for T2 was practically larger than my game install. I had scripts that would automatically buy vehicles for me by picking it before I stepped on the VPad, I had scripts that would automatically plop beacons down when I spit out a deployable inventory station... even jump / jet was a script, and wasn't default game behavior. One of the most common scripts was the one that would let the pilot see the bombardier's bomb reticule.

Soldiers AR should do 85 damage a shot and taper to 65 damage at long range. its a joke that the AR is outdone by both the LAR and the raiders SMG. The Thumper DX should have slightly more range and stopping power, a la the techs thumper.

as of right now the soldier remains my favourite class and should be the best midfield defender and a serious choice for flag defence and chasing, and while he does fill the roles well he is seriously gimped vs the raiders plasma gun, shield/jammer pack and nj4/5.

even pathfinders have better weapons for chasing, and never mind their speed and nitrons.

upping the soldiers firepower is a must, he should be scaring raiders in midfield, not becoming their playthings.

the spinfusor eagle soldier probably just needs the eagle to hit harder (125) and not taper off beyond 55, with a much longer falloff then right now with its limited range.

soldier needs some love :)

Raider gets a pretty powerful grenade launcher (although I still hate the thing because it lacks inheritance) and a powerful smg.

Soldier gets a pitiful grenade launcher and one of the worst automatics. Or the redundant combo of DL + Thumper or crappy pistol.

So basically Raider doesn't have to comply to the initial Hi-Rez design element of letting the players only have one and a half weapons, and at this point most classes don't. Even PTH now has two useful weapons. But the Soldier hasn't really been updated. It still strongly reflects the 1.5 weapon design.

E: There's no way you can use Soldier for chasing. Breaking stand offs maybe, but he's far too slow to be considered a chaser.

That is why so many weapons need to be tweaked, posted in topics that i thought needed changes such as ALL the shotguns for example, also the sparrow and nova colt and eagle could see to some buffs. Dont get me started on sabre and thumperDX. the novablaster and mkd are one of the few 1.5 weapons that are usable, repair tool is fine. Although it needs to fix deployables 10X faster.
Also X1 outclasses the MKD, same with falcon and blaster. However these weapons are actually usable and in some situations, actually better. (both better indoors, but dont know why the hell sent would be indoors to begin with.)

Soldiers can chase, You just need ego, spinfusor and to expend most of your health discjumping two or three times. Hes not a good chaser mind you, never said that, but its possible to chase if you a really bored and its 4:0 or 4:1

I'm assuming one could use the Thumper DX as a propellant since it is one of the worst explosive weapons :lol:

Ive been using soldier for chasing for about a week now. Its brutally hard. I switched to my Jammer/ARX raider for one match, and it was like super easy mode - nevermind using plasma gun instead, 1 of the 3 arx shots usually does as well as the thumper dx in midfield. the thumper has a role, but its just too weak combined with the horrible AR, the NJ4 is so much easier and hits harder...why oh why?

if i get my tech the sparrow, I think his thumper/sparrow combo plus deployable turrets is better for chasing and midfield fighting than the soldier.

before jackal, plasma the game was in good shape. hirez made a mistake with these weapons, and the raiders roles are much to multifaceted and his weapons are far superior.

The inf in open beta was good - sneaky, smart, annoying. Now, everyone runs around stealthing and lobbing jackal rounds like they are a soldier.

I can only assume its hirez forcing purchases and that the soldier will get new and bad upgrades like jackal and plasma, and this makes me worry because balance is swinging the wrong way to even more dps and damage with less aiming skill needed ala plasma gun or jackal.

the game is good, but Hirez needs to think very hard how to fix this bad precedent they set with these new weapons and make some minor tweaks to balance weapons the right way or it might get ugly very fast.

I don't know where this impression that the Pathfinder shouldn't be able to hold its own in a duel against other classes. Sure, it's a capping and chasing class, but every class has the potential to beat every other class.

Soldier needs a little help, I think. He mostly needs a better secondary weapon. But I think he'll always suffer from "Jack of all trades, master of none" syndrome. Versatility is his asset, but he's kind of stuck in that place where his versatility is out-classed by the specialties of other classes.

I still love the class, and I love people who underestimate the Soldier.

Although SF + Auto is probably a combination that shouldn't be available for any class to have. LAR should really be a primary weapon...

Why not? Many other classes have something similar.
Infiltrator has stealth spinfusor or jackal + SN7 (16 shot, decent rof)
Raider has plasmagun or grenade launcher or arx and a NJ4 (the most bitched about auto in the game)
Jugg has spinfusor discs, mortar and X1 (2nd most powerful auto, most powerful secondary)

Just switch the falcon and the eagle pistol. Give eagle to sentinels and falcon to soldiers. Increase eagle RoF slightly so sents will still be able to duel semi competently (20 shot semi auto instead of 26shot full auto, also change damage and make it projectile instead of hitscan)

That will make Spinfusor actually viable, let him have versitility and people will stop bitching about falcon being OP.
That and actually make the thumper DX useful too.
