This.. I.. what? King Solomon.. erm. Mortar range is too short and the behaviour still needs changing, that much I can understand. King Solomon?? :?

"The story is recounted in 1Kings 3:16-28. Two young women who lived in the same house and who both had an infant son came to Solomon for a judgement. One of the women claimed that the other, after accidentally smothering her own son while sleeping, had exchanged the two children to make it appear that the living child was hers. The other woman denied this and so both women claimed to be the mother of the living son and said that the dead boy belonged to the other.

After some deliberation, King Solomon called for a sword to be brought before him. He declared that there is only one fair solution: the live son must be split in two, each woman receiving half of the child. Upon hearing this terrible verdict, the boy's true mother cried out, "Please, My Lord, give her the live child—do not kill him!" However, the liar, in her bitter jealousy, exclaimed, "It shall be neither mine nor yours—divide it!" Solomon instantly gave the live baby to the real mother, realizing that the true mother's instincts were to protect her child, while the liar revealed that she did not truly love the child. The reputation of the king greatly increased when all the people of Israel heard of this wise judgment."

I hope this helps?

Thanks for the reasonable reply.
Much appreciated.
I agreed with you on the Mortar Range 100%, but, this has fallen on HiRez's deaf ears.

Nice to know that there was an individual out there that was not in an "English as a Second Language" class.

WAT?

In addition: It would be the approprate time to wish your Mother's, A happy Day.
Public service announcement for the short bus crowd.

"WAT"?
;)

910/20 = 45,5 damage per SMG hit.

mortar (Should be maximum in game unit of range for weapons.)
Mortar: 100%
All Spinfusors = 85% Mortar range.
Saber Launcher = 100% Mortar range (aim). 200% flight (this is time not distance though)
Grenade Launchers = 70% Mortar range.
SMG's = 85% Mortar range.
sniper = >9000% ;P

this was hard enough to make it look fair, but all this needs actual testing.
I don't even dare to talk about splash range.

Agreed, there would have to be testing.
IMO, Splash damage could be offset by SMG RoF / Armor penetration / Range.
I was curious to see what folks would come up with
as a fair ratio of SMG hits to 1 Spinfuzor (910)?
It is well demonstrated at how that went across.
;)
As far as range...
If the Mortar range was a rough unit of distance,
then, I would think that it could prove useful in determining
map dimensions, as well as, fair weapon ranges.
Examples: Raindance, if a capper makes it to the furthest lateral canyons,
there is no weapon that can reach her if there are no chasers.
The enemy capper has a reasonably safe run until closing on her base.
Or concerning weapons; Should Throwing Knives have the same range as Pistols or SMG's?

What is a fair ratio of the various weapon damages and ranges?
(There are ~28,000+ views on "How Auto's have broken the game". Where are the compromise points?).
