It was called Hunters (thanks lamebot!) but the premise was pretty simple, and LOADS of fun.

* Every time a player spawns/respawns, they have a flag.
* This flag is dropped on death.
* Every person has a counter over their head showing how many flags they have.
* When someone picks up a flag, they increase their flag count number.
* If they have 10 flags and die, they drop 10 separate flags, that ANYONE can pick up.
* There is one goal pyramid in which you can score by bringing the flags, it's always hard to get to, always exposing you in some way to being targeted, speed cap should be disabled by obstacles of some sort. Such as a large 5 sided box covered on all sides except the bottom with a floating platform under it so no lateral/drop capping can be done at high speed. The point is to make you work for it and to make you scared you're gonna lose what you have.


This game causes LOTS of teaming on the hoarders and lots of anxiety if you have a bunch of flags and are trying to score. I used to play this for hours, I never got tired of laughing at the rage it induced in people.

The greatest thing about this Game mode is this:

So you can kill people efficiently or are the fastest skier out there, and think you're the best thing since sliced bread. You can get 10 flags in 2 minutes... But what happens when everyone see's you have all those flags, good luck capping.

I've seen matches with hundreds of flags on the ground, it's a non stop adrenaline rush.

Yeah, it was in Tribes 2 and it was called Hunters. More people would know what you're proposing if you called it by that in the thread title.

Ah that's what it was, thanks, I added it to the title! I didn't play Tribes 2, I played it in the old Starsiege Tribes

I loved hunters and team hunters. Way better than rabbit as a fun distraction from CTF.

+1. Also team hunters was incredibly fun, too bad it was probably one of the most underplayed game modes. Hording flags on a heavy and then trying to defend them as they made their way to the nexus. Good times.

definitely, but to make it worthwhile the type of weapons allowed would need to be very limited. I'm talking like..... old school chaingun, grenade launcher, light spinfusor, blaster, buckler... all relatively rewarding if used properly but not over the top.

+1 the hell out of it, renegades was my 2nd favorite T1 mod.
