And that's another reason why there should either be a compulsory tutorial or a strong encouraged and rewarded (e.g., gives 10,000 exp) tutorial.

150 is slow for capping, but still reasonable pace if you can cover your back, or to hand tight till a faster class can trade with you. But no, I rarely play path.

And if I am on the Crossfire flag stand, the HoF just leapt down to return to the flag and there I am alone with no D and nobody announcing a run I should NOT grab it because I'm not going 100+?

Sorry. I'm grabbing it. And there's a good chance that just the leap from the stand will give me a good push home.

I llama grab all the time. I get them home on a regular basis. I don't grab if someone has called it but if they haven't I'm gonna at least TRY.

And like I said, it's not too unusual for me to make it back.

You guys and your high-speed elitism is driving me nuts.

And, just to clarify, I am a capper. I use routes. I average two caps a game. But I don't whine about "llama" grabs.

llama grab penalty should not be a massive hit to a players points. It should just be a tiny penalty of like -200 points, and a message that says "Try getting some speed next time" along with the llama grab accolade. This way it teaches new players that the practice is harmful without wrecking the scores of stand clearers who accidentally step on the flag, or players who happen to have a good reason for llama grabbing.

The problem with llama grabs is that they are the only way a player of your own team can cause another member of their own team grief.

We can't shoot each other.
We can't move or blow each other deployables up.

We can screw up a team mate's flag run though.

The issue is not "just suicide and start again", it's that setting up high-speed runs costs time. Meaning that you only get a certain number of runs per match. People wasting your runs by llama grabbing, getting themselves killed and the flag returned inside of 5 seconds is frustrating.

Sometimes llama grabs are useful and effective, but only more experienced players know when and how to turn a llama grab into a cap.

Disclaimer: I play SEN, INF, RDR, DMB, JUG. I don't even normally play PTH.

we are not going to incentivize bad caps, thank you. If they llama cap then they get no reward.

WTF is a bad cap? A cap is a cap. That is the dumbest s*** i have ever read.

What about picking up flag that got dropped as a heavy? Why would you be penalized for grabing a flag.

Here is a better idea. Nerf all pathfinders max speed.

Quite certain that no matter how fast one is going, picking up a dropped flag does not give one the Llama award.

please read my OP properly... the llama penalty is not based on speed of the pickup, only if you don't get to a reasonable speed soon after grabbing the flag.

Crossfire is a perfect example, I normally play infill and harrass the enermy base and flag defence, I rarely go for the flag as I leave that to the cappers... but sometimes I see a good opening and so I walk over the flag as I already in the base, then used to fall to get base momentum follow by a disc jump to get a boost above 200.

the general point of the whole post is to make people really think if they want to llama or not, any decent player will still llama if they confident they can pull it off, and there flag assist awards/flag cap awards will cancel out the penalty...

less experienced players however will think a lot harder, and probl leave capping to experts.

but they definately need a noob guide to help people understand that llama is NOT ood in most circumstances... in fact if the teams had less new people and more experienced people then once the flag was off it stand its prob stay off the stand tucked away in a tiny corner till the team FC comes home
