It's not supposed to be based on its user's skill, but on the lack of targeted enemy's skill. If saber is a problem to you, you're just not good. It's been overnerfed already, that's more than enough, quit complaining about perfectly working system and learn to play.

Fun enough for me watching target vs missile racing.
Also not supposed to be fun but supposed to do the job.

Again, if you cant avoid getting locked on, then evade or shooting it down as it comes at very low speed blinking red towards you, you're just not good, don't blame the weapon for your lack of skills.

Seriously shrike needs a way to fight back the AA, but not an easy way ATM shrikes can only run, and then there is the fact saber takes no skill.

Ive played another game, where there were AA turrets you could get in and control, But they could not shoot straight up, so you had to get right above them, then nosedive while shooting, The counter to shrikes needs to work, and shrikes need to be able to do something about it

Seriously? it is unbelievably easy to avoid Sabre missiles in the Shrike,
You can run, or try to shoot the missile down, all you have to do is hide behind a building or some terrain for 5 seconds....

Honestly I couldn't fully understand your post, you were either saying it is too easy, or too hard to evade missiles, can you clear that up please?


Easy to avoid, yes, but no so easy to kill the dmb, and if you do, hes back in 3 seconds, What im saying, is its skilless, and is just annoying - not even good at what its for.

It's not a problem to me. It's a nuisance.

Also, balancing weapons around other people being bad rather than the user being good is awful design.

Sabre is an incredibly boring weapon both to use and fight against... it should definitely be replaced by something else.

Replace Saber with Flak cannon. Shots multiple fast moving projectiles that have a proximity fuse against vehicles. If you are good with it you can also hit people.

It would need to somehow suck against people on the ground though. Not sure how.

I dont think it has to be replaced, you have a fantastic CG wich fires 320 rounds without changing mags. The Sabre launcher was made to be the weapon wich you choose if you have to make some repairs! To be honest, wich weapon you are picking when you have to reapair the Generator, Turret or whatever. The Saber launcher!!! Thats what is was made for!! :ugeek:

Problem with fly by wire is that you are imobile forced to stand utterly still while piloting a rocket...easy prey to anything pretty much, with no way to even attempt to dodge/jet etc...sitting duck while firing and chasing a shrike...

Um. No?

I'm assuming you're thinking of some sort of "fire it and then guide the rocket from its own point of view" type thing, right? When most people talk about a wire/laser/whatever-guided rocket, they just mean something that will follow your crosshairs when you move them after firing. You don't have to sit still for that. Think Vengeance's rocket pod or the RPG from the Half-Life games.
