Also, there is no reason on earth why bullets should have larger hitboxes than spinfusors. None.

Unless you're referring to the NJ5B, this isn't really the case, is it?

try it in training mode.

No they aren't. The fundamental issue with spinfusors compared to other weapons is their inconsistency. You can't balance other weapons around something that has such a random performance factor.

Edit: They shouldn't be the size of plasma, but I don't think the spinfusor hitbox is even the size of the projectile right now.

Reread my sentence. It's a question asking, aside from the NJ5B, what other bullet weapon has a larger hitbox than spinfusors?

In the case of the NJ5B... it can hardly qualify as a bullet weapon either. It's a hybrid that's closer to being a bullet weapon than the Plasma.

I think you guys are missing the point. The spinfusor discs right now are so small it's UNNECESSARILY difficult to get MA hits. It's harder than it is in any other Tribes game. People should be ending games with more than 2 BPSs. BPS wasn't common, but it wasn't so rare that *TWO* was a worthy accolade for end-of-game stats.

You could make the spinfusor hitbox the size of a single pixel, and make it only explode if you get a direct headshot, and people that were actually skilled enough to nail those hits would be on here complaining that it's "fine", but it's not. If you're skilled enough to hit 8+ BPSs a round, you'll rock harder with a slightly larger hitbox.

But stop deluding yourselves into thinking that an MA with a Spinfusor should be reserved for some sort of monopolization of your skill. The 'plate' hitbox is smaller than the actual size of the projectile and midair hits with a disc were never this hard in any previous Tribes game. I used to play a lot of head-to-head duel maps and it was common to get one or more midair per fight.

I dunno, midairs with disc don't seem to be that hard for me - at the very least, it doesn't feel that much different shooting a spinfusor in this game than it did in previous games (all physics crap aside). I've never once thought "silly hitbox, why is it so small!" when I miss one.

The answer is all of them. I was the one who did all the testing when this hitbox stuff started.

Every non-hitscan bullet weapon impacts enemy hitboxes so far away from the player model themselves that the actual bullet impact effect doesn't even touch the player model itself.

Additionally, Spinfusors simply slide past even when the shot was so close it would've bisected their kidney.

AFAIK, all smgs have larger hitboxes than projectile weapons.

Spinfusor > Thumper

Eagle < SMG

Spinfusor + Eagle > Thumper + SMG

That's my 2 cents.

MA's are much, much easier in TA.

That's how I feel too, which is why this thread (and that post) confuses me.

All of them except the hitscan ones and the sentinels nova pistol.
