This is very much appreciated by me because I like DMB but don't like using the CG. Being able to 1-shot infs and 2-shot splash any medium is very nice. I look forward to the patch.

Only thing is, why wasn't the HSF buffed alongside it? Both weapons had the same damage and fire rate and the only thing the brute has going for it is the heavy spinfusor, which currently has a worse DPS than the soldiers spinfusor. This same 7% damage buff would put the HSF to an equal DPS to the soldiers one.

If it's being held back for some kind of brute-specific patch then that's just kinda dumb. No reason to leave a weapon underpowered just because its class isn't getting a whole patch to itself.

because the brute is obviously the moest hated class, or it would have been fixed 3 months ago.

I'm mixed.

On the one hand, you need something to better differentiate the thumpers and the bolt launchers from the spinfusors.

On the other hand... poor god d*** brutes.

I can't say that I'm really worried about being one-shot by Doombringers now (as if being hit the first time wasn't enough of a death sentence), but really? They take the time to buff the Doombringer version and not the Brute? They remove mines exploding on friendlies but don't add an arming time to Motion Sensors?

I can understand them not messing with contentious issues like the Jackal and Drop Jammers that could have a significant impact on gameplay one way or the other, but everyone unanimously agrees that the Brute is an underpowered class. I want those guys to be one-shotting me with direct hits. They deserve it more than anyone else.

The hated thing is that's totally something I've suggested, bolt/thump/grens should all do more damage than their disc counter parts, with lower RoF's to distinguish them. It makes sense from both balance and continuity stand points. I'm totally with this HBL change.

It's just so vastly overshadowed by what this update lacks, that it's extremely disheartening.

I don't even own the HBL.

  • It's not better than the CG.
  • The most immobile class needs AA capabilities.
  • He has no compliments to it's offensives and movement capacity.

Move it to slot2:

Now I can go PE and be offensive. I still have AA, and more mobility. I can dry fire on turrets, and assets, I can even find uses for the FF in a forward capacity (indoors and what not), and actually have a reason to pull frag grenades instead of mines. I also now have a replacement option for the worst weapon in the game.

I'm not buying this weapon so long as it replaces the CG. It's the only auto I think is justified in it's current iteration. The HBL is just a niche sale for guys who hate autos, and don't want to use them out of personal pride. Even with this damage buff, I don't see it getting used in comp.

So without doing this basically for all similar weapons (like the Thumper) and moving them to the classes they should be on in the first place this change seems useless. It's a great change, that doesn't effect me at all.

They are still doing class packs, maybe the existing weapons are in their proper place now in anticipation of other weapons filling those niches.

My theory is every class will get an upgrade to Tier 2 weapons. They are much better than the current (Tier 1) weapons. So far, so good. :lol:

Hopefully this is only true initially and things will be balanced after everyone buys.
