Is the First Win of the Day XP boost considered "Bonus XP" such that your first win will reward you with the XP boost (if 6 players are in the match) but no token?
Or, will players who only enjoy custom server rule-sets get penalized (no First Win of the Day XP) for playing in a custom server? Thus requiring everyone who wants the First Win XP to play at least one vanilla game a day.

In either case - I don't understand the logic behind denying badges/stats/First win to people who play in OPEN custom servers.

Badges/stats not applying to custom servers makes a certain amount of sense because the custom rules make it vastly easier to inflate some stats relative to the vanilla game - eg. anything related to vehicles. I don't really see why first win of the day would be disabled on custom servers really though, it's no different than any other bonus XP.

Makes me wish I had played more in the "Free shrikes" servers before this patch though :P

But if the stats are purely a cosmetic attribute (have no effect other than giving players a way to keep track of the relative amount of time they play on a certain class/weapons/total kills/etc.) then there should be no harm in letting people "inflate" their score. For those who want to use stats as a way of gauging how experienced someone is at a certain role then surely the amount of kills earned in a shrike is valid whether the shrike cost 1 credit or 8k. Yes, the custom server may allow that player to use a shrike more often, or force a player into using a spinfuser more often - thus allowing them to gain experience with item faster than vanilla players; but, so what - it still acts as an indication of how much time they spent in a shrike. If anything, these stats are for personal enjoyment and act as a way of self-congratulations; if a player were to hack their page to show 9999999 flag caps then their action would be inert to any other player.

As for badges - is a blue plate special badge any less deserved in a custom server, where everyone uses a spinfuser, than in a vanilla server, where only you use a spinfuser? It's not obvious to me how the custom servers invalidate ALL badges (MA hits/Miracle arena badge/First Win badge); perhaps invalidating some badges like orbital strikes or shirkes (even then I don't see the point) may serve as some equalizer.

I'm curious if HiRez programmers failed to set the game up in such a way that one can earn a badge but not the bonus XP, or vice verse; such that, the bonus XP is directly linked to the earning of the badge: you cannot assign a player one without the other. I could see how such a system would be simpler to program and manage; especially since the milestone badges (that reward bundles of xp) need only be concerned with a single badge counter. If, for instance, earning the flag cap badge 1000 times rewards 10k xp, then the program only needs to count the amount of badges to know if the player should be awarded the xp. - by inflating the badge count, in custom servers, one could exploit the system to gain an unfair amount of xp. But there are plenty of programming tricks to counter-act such exploits (internal counter that only increments when the badge is earned in vanilla servers for instance) and allow the user to enjoy the benefits of stat-tracking

And remember that even making "one time" badges very-farmable might have an effect when it comes to farming alternate accounts for referral bonuses.

You don't actually have access to the server software, you can just set server flags as far as I know.

That was my final point; there is no necessary link for the earning of a badge (a little trophy on your wall) to always reward bonus XP. They could make it so the bonus XP is only applied to badges earned in vanilla.

Also - the admin tools will likely not allow for the ability to change badge conditions, thus making your other "words" unwarranted.

If you really think people won't find a way to farm in a private setting you are very naive
Cause they will
It doesn't matter what server tools they have access to
They will find a way and they will exploit it

And making a separate counter for private and public is just pointless when you're the only person that sees it

Also you're confusing accolades with badges
Badges are awarded for getting 500 blue plates or 300 base repairs or 1000 kills
