Should be higher if anything. I'm level 34 , and not only have every unlock in the game but close to a million xp to spare. Now, like many others who have been playing since beta or shortly after, there's nothing left to buy. New items don't come quick enough, and while the prices seem high they're really not. I didn't buy a single item with gold or purchase any gold at all.

There needs to be some inflated way to convert XP to gold or buy boosters/skins with them just to get rid of it.

Were you around during the days of Tokens? Never forget that the glut of exp came from converted tokens, leading into an insanely high exp rate then we you can get now.

I was definitly. I started playing the first week of December. It was also that HiRez refunded boosters. I had 2x 10 day boosters I bought in that time and during the patch that got rid of tokens we also got refunded boosters (or sometime after my memory is foggy).

Then there were 2 instances the servers were unaccessable on Fridays at night for some hours. Each time this happened I had tried to login to play (I play a lot on most days, some days just 1 hour but avg prolly 2 hour in afternoon , 2-3 at night) but it didn't work. When I could login I somehow had 7 day of booster added free (for our trouble I guess?). So I got some free time , about 2 weeks , some how.

edit: I should add that the server down booster addition thing I had the refunded boosters running. I didn't get boost out of the air, just extended duration.

What HiRez's XP pricing schema ultimately means for players is this:

You either pay real money, or you play your ass off.

This would be fine were not for the fact that it actively discourages casual players of the game.

And discourages people who don't like spending 30 bucks on a ninth of a game.

I bought into the game myself, with the starter booster vip thing that was like 30 bucks, now I understand that a lot of people have a crud ton of xp from the token conversion days. That being said, guns, skins, packs, and other things are probably going to be coming out for a number of patches for the future, I would guess for the primary and secondary slot for each class their will be 3-4 weapons, just makes sense that way. Two packs for each class, different armors and so forth, so in the future 30 bucks will not be buying you 1/3 or 1/4 or even 1/5 of the game that their is.

The xp rates need to be a slight bit higher but not to much higher, Hi-rez does need to make its money, but casual players need to be able to feel they are earning guns and doing things by their own effort otherwise they will give the game up. I would suggest a 5% increase or about that much for xp gain, nothing to significant but enough to make it feel like what I do matters for my xp. Since most of the xp people will gain is, boost and vip and first win of the day. Beyond those three the highest factor of xp gain is time played, not how good you did, cause the win is not factored in correctly anymore, it's added to your credits at the end of the game, which is just silly.

I mostly feel that the xp costs between weapons and everything feels a bit off. While you always have the feeling you are about to unlock the next upgrade weapons are sitting in your loadout like behemoths and you are just afraid you are never able to unlock those. Maybe going up on upgrade etc costs a little and therefore going down on weapons would "fix" that.

And I still think there shouldn't be such a high "bosst" for winning. Players should be rewarded for playing and their individual contribution to the team. Not for their team winning.

Buy a boost. It makes it 9000x easier as you get VIP also.

But still that is alot for one gun even if you have the boost.

I had over 900k XP left over after buying/upgrading Jackal/Knives/Smoke nades, and I have everything for every class unlocked.

If you want more stuff, play more.

I play alot all most 5 to 7 games a day and i dont have the boost so i only get 220 XP a game.

personally, I think the XP costs are ok. maybe a little high, but its the gold costs that are crazy. 800 for 3 weapons is fine, but 780 for a weapon that isn't on sale? thats nuts.

I got to 75k in 2 days. Bought the throwing knives.

It's not that much really, get VIP.

I like how everyone here is just replying "durr buy vip" when the point was that free players have to play a ton if they want to unlock even 1 gun, which to a free casual player means they're never seeing anything else than the default guns.

I mean come on, 100 000 for a single gun, when the normal XP amount per match is around 300-1000? Yeah, sure casuals are gonna play 100 matches (and of course saving all of the XP) just to get 1 silly gun.
