I was not using dynamix irc server. You remember DiSk, not me.

I would be shocked if HiRez didn't regularly collect some pretty detailed statistics on weapon usage and effectiveness.

I think it's a safe bet that whatever their numbers are, they do not bear out the level of doom-saying which is in this thread.

And I would be shocked if the numbers didn't lie.

As I said before, there must be a large number of players who are still using explosives because they find it more fun and/or because they refuse to spend the 20 minutes to adapt to using automatics. I know this because to a small extent, I'm one of them. These people are playing Tribes the way they want Tribes to be played, even despite getting killed by less skilled players with automatics. Someone even replied up thread saying that their entire comp team did this and got ripped apart in the first match they had against a team that used automatics.

If they DO take note, the inevitable NJ5 nerf will be shockingly large compared to what paying customers will be expecting. I'm sure they won't do it all at once, or even within the next week... But for those who buy the new raider rifle, beware; there will likely be a hotfix nerf, followed hopefully by an auto nerf within a couple weeks.

Or a nerf to the Raider's shield-pack/energy-pool behavior, which is the real catalyst.

If the issue was purely the NJ4, then we'd see almost the same complaints about the Soldier's Assault Rifle.

They barely attack any issues at all and you are actually expecting this? You're dreaming, you know that?
