Post Is Hi-Rez trying to p*** off its paying players?
I had no idea that there were going to be items in the game that are purchasable with gold only when I bought my $30 pack. At the time I figured I might as well just fill out my arsenal because I could always use my exp to buy stuff that came out later. Well release has come and gone, and not only is it impossible to change your name without real money purchases, but its impossible to pick up the new skins as well.

Now I don't have a problem with there being real money costs for cosmetic upgrades, but I do have a problem with not having the chance to purchase these upgrades with the gold that I spent money for. At least if I had some kind of notification that there were going to be items that I could only buy with gold I could have saved some instead of buying weapons and gear for classes that I rarely use. Hell, even some of those weapons that I bought are not what they were when I purchased them.

I am pissed that I spent my cash to support a game that isn't supporting it's investors.

A couple options:

1: Give a complete reset on all purchases. Give back all gold, all experience, and reset loadouts.

2: Give players who spent gold the opportunity to make a refund for their purchases.

Also, players should be able to change their names without the need for a real money purchase.

You're not an "investor", you're a customer and you bought something and received it.

I'm sure you don't go bitching at your local store about being forced to buy bread daily, clearly if you paid for it once you should be entitled for every consecutive loaf.

They're just following the standard model that everyone these days is using... where all gameplay items are accessible via playtime currency, and cosmetic stuff can only be bought by real money.

Frankly, I think it's an idiotic model and that any company would be better off by allowing their customers to access everything with playtime currency.

A reset/respec option would be absolutely lovely, but I highly doubt it's ever going to be implemented. Yet another one of those things that companies short-sightedly think would be detrimental to them.

No, but my local store would certainly allow me to exchange the product I bought for something of equal value within a reasonable timeframe, provided that it's in the same condition as when I bought it.

And to be clear, I don't think bitching about it is necessarily justified. But some of these things would be absolutely great to do for the users/customers, and there's actually very little reason to not do them... the benefit/love you'll get from them will far outweigh whatever the perceived cost is of doing it.

Many games have already moved away from the model of having players making relatively uninformed but permanent decisions. The same principle applies here too.

You are not an investor. You are a stakeholder, but that is apples and gigantic purple oranges.

Why would they sacrifice future revenue to satiate an ignorant customer?

Perhaps you don't really understand this business thing.

I knew back in November that cosmetics would be gold only. But anyway, its just cosmetics. It doesn't matter.

I'd like to be able to get a refund on certain items, even if it's only an 80-50% one. Some guns I just plain don't like and never use despite having payed for them. This wouldn't be a problem if guns weren't $10 but they are and it'd be nice to be able to do.

Again, 80-50%. Not 100%.

I did like the xp reset they did when they implemented the new system.

Like, I paid for the stealth spinfusor but I am never going to use it now that I have the nade launcher.

However, you know d*** well that new items are going to come out. They want you to buy more of them.
