Post FIRST PERSON SPECTATE VIEW
Not sure if this has been covered yet, but would it be possible to spec someone in first person? There have been a few times, especially back when the assault rifle was still hitscan, when the whole server has suspected that someone was aimbotting but there was no real way to tell for sure since we could only spectate in 3rd person.

Please implement it Hi-Rez :D

Thanks,

End.

On one of the tribescast scrims, HiRezBart goes into this issue and how, due to the game using the Unreal3 engine any sort of first person view is a bit of a hack, with a third person camera just rammed into the characters head, as opposed to a real first person view.

He also states that due to this, first person view spectating would, apparently, be very hard to implement.

So do not get your hopes up.

But I would love to see it anyway.

This was a big issue with Brink. The game did not have first person spectating due to engine difficulties, and as a result, no one ever shut up about it. It was one of a couple of reasons that the comp community died for that game.

I hope that Hi-Rez can avoid that if all possible.

Well as far as I've heard about it, it's definitewly possible to some extend. Would be really a hard kidney shot for a FPS without first person demo view. I mean who wants to see a third person FPS.

Nobody knows. They barely post, but they seem to read at least a little.

The forums are a good way to make people think they're being productive.
