Hi-Rez, if you aren't going to do the 3/4/5 at least make the heavy's weapons more powerful to make up for the lack of arsenal that we are accustomed to.

Increase the damage/knockback and increase the AoE: the actual blast radius where damage is caused and not just the art.

How am I supposed to impress the ladies with this thing?

Leviathan seems to be racking up kills with that thing on the EU servers. I find its radius to be insane, but if it's hard to use I guess that's ok.

That reload part of your video was extremely frustrating to watch! Not because you do it wrong, but because I agree with you, it's an annoying feature! I don't care about realism, this is Tribes FFS! I'd prefer if my weapons reload on my back, it makes the game play smoother and more fun. We want to shoot people, not reload!

I didn't say I wasn't killing anyone, I've gotten plenty of artillery strikes with dead-on hits...but add in the fact you don't get many points for D'ing the flag, nailing cappers, etc, plus the fact that blowing equipment up is difficult (You know how many eggs it takes to blow up a Gen in T:A? Alot.)...add in all the little bits and pieces, plus the huge amount of frustration from nailing people with shots that you know should have killed them outright, and it's just too much.

Perfect example is 2:33 in the video...you can't make it much more clearer than that. That dude shoulda been dead...instead I end up having to chase him all over the place with a disc. That mortar shoulda spread him like paint all over that big hill he was going up.

I'm sorry but when you don't know what you're saying you don't speak. In Vengeance there is no such thing as "reloading" only RoF defines how fast you can switch and it's a LOT more fun and efficient than in T:A. Hi-Rez simply mistook "cosmetic RoF animation" and reloading. Grave mistake.

It's counter intuitive to fluid gameplay and Tribes IS about fluid gameplay. You should not reload every f*** shell/disk it negates any sort of synergy between the 2 lousy weapons we have. Not to mention when you switch back to the spin if you notice the disk is already loaded, then actually vanishes so you can witness the obnoxious reload animation once more. This should be purely cosmetic not have any sort of impact on weapon switch. That my friends, is a fact.

Simple version for ADDs: We should be exempt from the "reloading" animation( should act as a cosmetic RoF timer) when we switched weapons for longer than the previous's weapon RoF.

I don't care how to try to rationalize this combat needs to be a LOT faster paced than the current reload/ weapon switch mechanism allows it.

Currently it's a game breaking issue

And yeah Mortar arm time is completely off people just strut away from it no stress.

I haven't been able to use the mortar myself, and I can't say that I've seen any in the games I played yesterday. I played for most of the day, and all the Heavies I saw were playing as Doombringers with the Chaingun and lock-on Missile Launcher.

Judging from the vid, I would say it could use some damage and radius buffs. It's certainly no where near as devastating as they were in the original games.

Go right ahead. I'd like to see where you are misunderstanding.



EDIT: I did some tests. It's different in vengeance- weapons reload while they are not active... allowing you to achieve a faster rof by spamming weapon swaps and taking a shot out of each of them. T1/2 have it how I explained earlier though. One of those three games is considered a failure by 90% of the community.

So, like you said, Tribes is about fluid gameplay (not spamming weapon swaps).
