THIS IS FOR BRUTES ONLY!!!! Any one kind of pissed at the fractil nerf. I mean seriously decreasing the initial AOE actually decreases the overall AOE. And decreasing damage. Are you serious? People need to stop complaining and learn to play around things.

For reference, I play 90% Brute.

I don't have a problem with it and actually think it is justified. I get a lot less kills with Fractals now, but it still works very good as area denial and enough people still just walk into it and die.

Come on mate, they were a bit overpowered and i think they are still very good. But use them tactically, not just spam them near the flagstand (though that still works on maps like Crossfire).

I've been a main Brute since the Beta.

I was one of the few people crazy enough to main Brute back when the class was as unloved by HiRez as a newborn baby in a dumpster and consequently was basically nothing more than a weak JUG for those wanting to gimp themselves.

Back when the average number of Brutes in a 16v16 rounded to the nearest integer was 0.




And I do not care about fractals being nerfed.

The nerf was justified in order to cull the numbers of retards who first began playing Brute in the Staying Alive update and used him exclusively as a suicidal fractal dispenser.

I never chose Brute for his fractals, I chose him because I loved the idea of the Heavy Spinfusor and his lack of automatics, which kept combat tactics interesting.


The Brute is in a relatively good place now, all I really want now is an alternative anti-infantry grenade to the fractals.
Either giving Light Stickies a default ammo count of 3, or introducing a duelling Light Sticky variant with much lower anti-armour damage and much higher throwing velocity (for mid-air sticks).

I play Brute when I feel like disrupting flag defense or gen defense, mainly on Tartarus and Dry Dock. I've no problems with what HiRez did to the Fractals. To be honest, they were a little OP, and they've been brought reasonably in line.

People need to learn how to play instead of rushing a base, throwing three grenades, and then dying.

Fractals were borderline ridiculous for area denial. "Just fly over them" doesn't work when they're dropped on your flag stand and there's a capper incoming.

Quit yer bitching and learn how to aim the Devastator Spinfusor.

I'll just be brief.

I main Brute, and I do well with this class.

Fractals before were good, but in general not broken, and usually avoidable. No room for argument anymore -- they can kill, they can be avoided, they're not unavoidable indoors, they're not invisible, they're not silent, etc.

The Fractal nerf was really just a blanket nerf to quiet the whining rank 5 TCNs that had their audio and monitor turned off when slouching about in their base charging into green glowing balls.

AoE nerf = negligible
Damage nerf = negligible because it kills everything in the same time
Time active nerf = negligible because lrn2timeitright

I would say in general though, they may need some more future adjusting:
- RoF +15%
- Knockback -25%

I certainly agree with this. I generally main Brute myself, though lately I've been playing with the Raider, and the Fractals have been a handy tool. The nerf was just to quiet the scrub noobs IMO, and doesn't affect things too much for me. I will say that the Fractals don't really need knockback at all, and I wouldn't cry if knockback was removed comepletly from them.

Fractals need to be revamped, rather than being buffed or nerfed or anything else.

Currently you have two fractals that do essentially the same thing.

Regular fractals should do a lot of damage over a short period of time, but offer zero knockback to the enemy.
Extended fractals should do very low damage, last for a long time and provide a good amount of knockback.

This would give the brutes an actual choice for their belt item. Both are still creating area of denial, but in different ways.
