thanks for the continued help, i downloaded ice-chat & connected to the irc.quakenet.org, but cannot figure out how to actually use it, tried the obvious (typing in #tamixed) and that said that i should have types in /query #tamixed, but that just gave me an empty window with no people, am i being stupid or somthing?

To join a channel you must type:

/join #channelname

Alternatively you can also use the webchat at http://webchat.quakenet.org/

You guys should consider an IRC add on to help run your pickup games, I played TFC for many years and we always used the pickup addon. You just have people type !add and they are entered into a pool of players and once teh max is reached it randomizes it. Can bet set up to have captains and then just pick like you guys seem to like. Also pm's every player information and what not.

Just a suggestion for the pickup channel so you don't have to idle in a VoIP server, and I suggest it because of the comments people have been complaining about not getting picked.

This way its first come first serve. Something to think about, if you would like to see the bot(addon) in action you can go to gamesnet or gamesurge, euro TFC players use it also. I think the channel for euro is just #tfcpickup and for NA its #tfc.invite.

Apologies if this has already been looked into/suggested.

Also, I'm new and looking to get into the competitive scene. This game I think is most comparable to TFC than any other game and I'm enjoying it and would love to start scrimming and stuff if anyone is looking for someone.(not clans of 500 people plz :) )

dorky

whoa didnt realize the last post was that long ago -.-

hella necro'd

Would appretiate it if the OP could be edited to include information on how to get into oceanic(australia/newzealand) pugs, these happen on a nightly basis.

Australia/New Zealand:

All pugs are organised by a irc pugbot
join #austa on irc.gamesurge.net
type !joinpug
Once the pug is full you will recieve a notification in irc, and should then join the mumble server(details for which are found in the irc channel topic). Team captains pick teams and maps over mumble.
If you don't have an irc client, you can use the inbuilt webirc at http://www.bittah.com to get into the channel with 1 easy click.
