We will be applying an upgrade to the Tribes Ascend Open Beta today. Please see below for patch notes.

Expect several hours of downtime while the patch is deployed. We are also running some infrastructure tests immediately after go live, so users may expect the servers to go up and down a couple times today while tests are conducted.

Hi-Rez Studios announced that Tribes: Ascend will be released on April 12, 2012. http://www.hirezstudios.com/hirezwp/?p=1825

Great!... now here are some notes for the NEXT PATCH:

1) End of game chat, move end of game review board so it's not covering the text.
2) Add blood.
3) Doom Bringer Force Field on flag stand (Lets move them off there).
4) Deploy-able ammo station on flag stand (really?).
5) Showing what accolades the player who killed you receives as a result of killing you.
6) Show time played in a current match on the score board !
7) Show time played on end game review board.
8) Chat color needs to be fixed or background on red text. I can't read RED text. (Think of the color blind folks!) ;)
9) Written chat is the same color as voice commands, hard to distinguish real messages.
10) Website listing player stats and ranks, and etc.
11) Female Models
12) Allow PLAYER NAMES TO HAVE COLORS !
13) Spec|al Ch@racter Names a11owed.
14) EXCESSIVE MODE, or alternate game modes. (For the new kids, excessive mode is where weapons shoot 1000/per min, super fast! Massive fun times !)
15) First person mode / view in vehicles.
16)......there are more, but I think you get the idea.

Woot can't wait to see that patch !

Thanks for that wonderfull game, i'm a old player of FPS since 1997, and trust me it remind me a mix of UT/Q3 and god that's so good !

solid patch, nothing too exciting though. Good to get a couple more maps back into ctf rotation. Not being able to nitron with flag will make good snipers even more effective, though it may help with chasing.

im really looking forward to this patch.
lots of good news regarding gameplay issues, especially this:
"A variety of physics changes have been made in order to fix several issues impacting the fluidity of movement. This includes the elimination of several items that would cause deadstops and hitches, as well as a bug that would allow you to ski/jet along the boundary wall. Changes were also made in order to fix a few issues that would occur when traveling up steep hills. Additional improvements are planned for future releases."
i hope that will also remove the rubberbanding effect that happens sometimes when u go from fast skiing to walk speed, that can be really glitchy sometimes.

and also "Increased Heavy run speed by 20%." -non-jetpack+ski movement with heavy class was agonizing.

was hoping to see bella omega map back tho.
