What is the point to use Pathfinder for capping?
Soldier seems now better for that job.

Why did you change Nitron?

PS: Do you notice a "Sentinel" fashion, now Tribes seems slower?
I spent a public game with more than 5 Sent in opponent team. Camping and Shooting everywhere? Is that Tribes? No move (1/Jammer 2/Scope 3/Waiting...)

PS2: I d like bigger reticles for Inf stuff... Not a big deal, but I write it.

What level are you? I've only seen this in the higher levels, (more sentinels), and i think that's simply because people are getting bored playing light classes. You also see a lot more heavies, I started sniping because I already leveled up my pathfinder class and it got a little boring for pubs, so I gave sniping a try. I actually find it kind of annoying that there are so many heavies now to snipe instead of the fast moving pathfinders back in the day.

Whatever, there's always something to complain about. Just give us modding tools and charge us for it and we'll be glad to dish out the money to make this game the way we want it. no more complaining.

Or just mapping tools, so that we can at least get some more maps going to keep things interesting. I'd be fine with them being curated by Hi-Rez, so long as they were reasonably responsive.

Modding tools could cause too much fracturing, which might ultimately be bad for the game - though it would be nice to fix the physics and have a mod that made this a real successor to Tribes (no smgs, proper jet pack behavior, etc.).

While fracturing might be the case, you will probably only see that at the beginning, at which point people would have a lot of interest in trying out the different mods out of pure curiosity until certain more popular ones shine through, at which point the market becomes much more consolidated, and you capture the interest of more players who have quit Tribes:Ascend because of the way the game was released to the public/open Beta before key factors/mechanics/physics were properly implemented/modified.

I strongly, STRONGLY believe that the new matchmaking system is ineffective and is drastically detrimental to the game. It does not endorse people with similar skill levels playing together. It endorses people with similar rank playing together, and nothing else entirely. And since the matchmaking update Capture and Hold has been practically dead. You killed an entire game type with your update to the system. When something like that happens, then you really should consider undoing the cause.

if c & h is "dead", it's because there are less people playing it, not because of the matchmaking.

Matchmaking has never been much of an issue in Oceanic servers, mainly because everyone plays together, with the only real distinction being between the Newbie bracket and everyone else.


C&H is pretty much dead, Arena is sickly at best, TDM isn't too bad, and CTF is fine.


C&H fairs the worst simply because it's just not very fun... the implementation is weird and doesn't work how you'd expect it was meant to.
People played it plenty in the month after it was released but the numbers gradually faded as more people realised it just wasn't very good, and then it gets to the point where people stop playing because not enough people are playing, and then that negative feedback loop kills it off entirely.

Arena is sickly due to its various bugs
- can't team balance during match
- weird display issues on scoreboard
- unable to chat after death
- weird slanted spectator
- announcer saying wrong outcome (for example "You Lost!" when you actually won)
- randomly adding 6th person to a 5 person game\

never has such a good gametype needed so much love. it just feels like an abandoned which is sad because a lot of good players view it as a very mature form of tribes dm. i really wish they would put more into it.

I'm succumbing to the inter-patch depression... My will to play has dwindled so much that I've taken to playing stupid games like Spore to kill my time.

Really hope a content patch comes out soon, CTF defence is still very poorly balanced - it's either nobody at all defending or "Holy crap this is the bet defensive team ever!", with the former making up 95% of games unfortunately.

Really need to fix the defence system so people actually feel compelled to defend and repair BEFORE the point where every asset is Mk.4.
