Hello!

I just wanted to make a quick post about my GA website: agendastats.com. I started building this website a few weeks back in my spare time and it seems to be taking on life lately so I wanted to make an "official announcement" about it and give everyone a space to make suggestions or comments. I linked to the site in a couple old threads and got some feedback from it, so I figured this would help keep that kind of talk organized instead of invading other threads.

To make it clear: the "score" which I'm ranking players by is given by Hi-Rez and not created by me. I do not know the formula for how it is calculated. I simply saw these scores and decided they needed some context. Then I decided I wanted to start looking at an analyzing the skill tree choices players make. For now it will allow you to look at any players skill choices, but I plan to do further analysis of this when I have the time (after this week because I'm moving).

A couple days ago I decided to add some code for forum signatures, mostly because I had no idea how they were made and wanted to learn. Yesterday this had already generated over 20k page hits with very few users having adopted the tags. So a few minutes ago I implemented better image caching ;)

Everyone is welcome to use the site and the forum signatures as they please. I have a lot more planned: 4v4 rankings, further analysis of classes/skills/performance, additional signature options if they are desired, and whatever else I (or you) think of. So far I've just been doing things I want to see, or that I wanted to learn, but I suppose I may put more work into it if people actually want to use it.

I guess that's all really, this whole thing has been really casual for me and I haven't told many people about it... but now that the word is spreading I figured it needed an official announcement. So here it is! This is as official as I get :lol:

I am willing to admit we made mistakes. Making GA more MMO like was a giant f*** mistake and should be remedied.

It counts your stats from every game, even the ones where you didn't even have any Skill Points or Offhands.

I am curious how Fastolust is topping both enginner and recon, dispite not being part of any AvA orginization. Reinforces the theory that Fastolust is using hacks.

This is correct, which makes the stats even more interesting for players who have very few matches. That's the primary reason you are not listed on the player list until you get at least 50 matches played, and I may raise that significantly as your score becomes more accurate with how much you play.

I may even consider making my own ranking system instead of only using the score given by Hi-Rez, but right now my priority will be doing that for 4v4 (as there is no ranking system at all for that which I am aware of).

This reminds me of something else I should mention: how the data is stored and updated. It would be extremely slow and wasteful of me to constantly query the games stats API, and I am limited in the number of times I'm allowed to do so in any rolling 24 hour period. This means the data I can get is somewhat limited. Everything you see on the site and in the signatures is coming from my own database.

I must make individual requests for each players data. If you are not in the system you can add yourself by putting your name in the top "Add/View Player" box and it will automatically pull the data from Hi-Rez and store it into my database.

Some players have been in my database for a long time without any updates. This will likely change but as of right now the way to update your stats is to press "Refresh Data" on the top right of your player page.

As for the sigs, they are cached for 1 hour and based of the data in my database. This means if you want them to update: go to your page then press refresh data, they should update within an hour after doing that.

Right now that's running on good faith, but I will likely make it something like: automatic upon viewing but only if it's over an hour old (this will be based on how many hits I'm getting and the restrictions Hi-Rez puts on their stats API). If we exceed the limited number of API requests it will stop allowing my site to make any updates until the next 24 period, so while I encourage you to add and update your stats please try to keep it somewhat reasonable (even a couple times a day is probably fine, just don't spam it or I'll very quickly have to limit everyone).

Again the stats API is still in beta, and this site is far from finished, so expect these things to change according to anything Hi-rez does as well as the popularity of the site.

I've updated my data... once.

No point updating more than every few weeks just to see how I scale.

And I still say Fastolust's stats are more than a little absurd.

do the signature images update dynamicaly, or does it show your most used spec? i changed my recon specc and the site reports one thing and the image reports another :?

What that's showing are the score distributions of each class. Recons have the lowest scores and assaults the highest. The reason the assault curve is so flat is due to the high standard deviation of scores.

I don't have every player in the game yet, what I did was start with myself and then request the details of every mission I had played in - which gave me the names of every player in them, then I ran a script to add all of those to my database.

You can see the stats for players with >50 pvp matches on the player pages. They look like this:

Data from 2245 ROBOTICS's:
Average score: 35.1
Standard Deviation: 6.37
Max: 63.2

Data from 2019 ASSAULT's:
Average score: 42.7
Standard Deviation: 10.11
Max: 93.1

Data from 1981 RECON's:
Average score: 29
Standard Deviation: 7.32
Max: 65.6


So there are more robos than recons with >50 pvp games (in my stats at least), however there's a pretty good number of assaults in there (they just vary the most in score). It's medics who are the most under represented =(

It doesn't surprise me assaults get the highest score as usually they can get high stats in basically everything besides healing. Recons on the other hand tend to get high damage and kills but little else (some get high objective points but many just hide in the corner being scared) so it's not surprising they score the lowest.
